my first finish was half-orc warrior ... spec chosen for 19 str plus the GM 2h sword profic. probably not very special but i love the exploding orc limbs.

Excellent roll, great for a multiclass character or Paladin!

My best roll was 94 (sum), pretty unique though, never had anything better than 87 otherwise.

Almost as good as mine. :) I got an Inquisitor with:

18 18 18 10 18 18.

I was curious. Would characters rolled/made in BG1 & imported to BG2 count, tome enhancements included?

You bet. Elves w/20 dex, Dwarves w/20 con... all this and more can be yours if you have the patience to play through BG1 again. I, however, don't.

What I do have though is the fighter I used originally to beat BGI, and he has 19 str/dex/con. In all truth, it is almost too much sometimes (as I have said before, a Kensai/Theif dualed at 15 those stats and UAI... absolutely ridiculous... 110% destruction)

My best roll ever was with a multi-class Cleric Ranger, total 96 points w/ 18.99 str. Real good, but I got sick of him.

Me, I've used my Paladin for SoA w/

19 Str
17 Dex
19 Con
11 Int
17 Wis
19 Cha

Sure, not like alot of the other stats posted, but sure has made enough orcs & goblins run home in shame.

how do you get such high rolls? i usually get around 45 (total) and i roll for a long time (45 mins average). you got mods installed and what are they?

You can also shorten the process by deciding on the stats you find desirable and SK them into the finished character. Some may call this cheating but since you can roll extreme stats with enough patience, I consider it time saving, because some characters (Paladins, most dual or triple class characters) simply need higher rolls than others. My typical char then looks like 14/18/18/10/18/11, basically something between 80 and 90, which would be achievable by standard rolling too.

sit at your computer and hit the reroll button obsessive-compulsively for two hours a day 180 days a week

:bangs head against wall:

why i am so freaking OCD about good stats?? who knows :(

altho i really liked getting 18 charisma + blade of roses + nymph cloak + charm shield, i had like 23 charisma :D :D

Why don't you just use CLUA to create the manuals and then set your stats to whatever you want? I know that rolling is fun, but it is only fun when you get a good roll (and you think- "Nice, this guy's gonna ROCK!"), not when you sit and roll for an hour. I understand why some people prefer to roll (for RP value, depth, etc. ) and I don't want to start that argument, but if you are interested in keeping time down and having abnormally good stats, why not just roll a few rolls, see what you get, and then pad them with manuals or SK after the fact?

You can also be a true roleplayer: just pick the first roll you make, or if that's too hardcore for you, keep rolling until you have good stats without having to re-allocate your points. ;)
I mostly do the last, and the best I had so far was 14/15/9/17/17/16. Excellent stats, as I was making a Cleric/Mage :)

Agree with that; I've always done the same. My best roll is somewhere in the 82/83 range. I can see why people want swanky stats but you might as well CLUA them as spend hours rolling.

This is just a periodic reminder to everybody to read the forum rules. Pay especial attention to the one about spamming outside SYM (the Speak Your Mind forum, intended for non-game discussions). If you're going to post here, every post should be on subject. Not doing so could result in posts being removed, and ultimately, posting privileges.

My chars are usually 80+, I think the best one I have is a Kensai/Mage with 85 or 86 points in total. Got that one in my fifth roll or so. :D
