I tried roleplaying and powergaming and all kinds of stuff but in the end ive just become bored of this game. please help! does ANYONE know ANYTHING that can make the game more fun.

You can try making UPP/JUPP parties. You can try mods. You can try another party focusing on a different fighting style.

If non of the above work, put your CD away for a while and try playing again in about 3-6 months. I have gotton bored with Ice Wind Dale II many many times, but a break always has me playing again after a few months (I took a very long break to play Everquest, but I still came back to IW Dale II).

play a different game

i recomend Baldur's Gate 2, or The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind

Try installing mods, or making different parties with different combinations. Or, try and find hard things, such as the Abominable yeti, the purple snowman.

P.S. A really great game to play is Diablo II.

Hey Ammama, how familiar are you with 3rd edition D & D, or forgotten Realms for that matter? Have you read any novels or roll playing books? There is a lot of background in the game. I think its up to the player to roll play it. For example do you know the forgotten realms pantheon? Lots of dieties. Plenty you can incorporate into the game. I hope you have a chance to try it again. Maybe with a little background it could be funner. Good Luck in your next adventure where ever that may be. Till, then I'll make mine Targos!

I went trough IWD2 normal mode with JUPP melee party and I have 3 different parties unfinished and 3 parties with my friends trough the net. Not getting bored yet. Try playing with your friends. We tried different combinations. Both players have 3, 2 or 1 character to play. We tried even playing with 2 of my friends at the same time so each player has 2 characters. It brings a lot more roleplay feeling cause you don't control all the characters.

can u suggest any mods in particular? i did try the whole roleplaying thing but it doesnt really change things much. I might try the arcan party from JUPP. I've thought bout getting a new game, but i need to save up, and dont want 2 get sumthin and not like it. what dyu guys recommend?

Dunno for sure, but since it's an old game, it can't be that expensive. And it worth a fortune anyway! Believe me, that's the BEST rpg ever!

BG2 is like 10-15 bucks at most local stores

Planescape: Torment is better But you can't fault BG either. But for my money, PS:T is the ultimate RPG in recent memory anyway.

im looking for a game with in depth character creation and development, and more importantly, great roleplaying.

I have never tried Planescape: Torment but if it's that good I'll have to try. But I have my doubt's about it being better than BG2. Are there only 3 character classes in PS: Torment? I don't know anything about that game. Just what I looked up here on GB

It's not the variety of classes that make the difference. It's the variety of options you have to play the character. There are multiple ways to handle quests dependant on how you create your character and what stats you build up and what stats you don't. It's possible to play the game combat heavey, or to play it with minimal combat and try and use other skills to work your way out of things. The story and plot lines are more intircate than in BG2, and the dialaogues with other characters are very good. the conversation you have with people, they way in which the story unfolds, the various factions and relations with your party members just bring the entire game to life.

Grant it, the first bit is slow, but so is the begging levels of SoA. And the mood is darker than BG, which some people don't like. But if you're looking for a game with a well thought out story, well done dialogue that pulls you into the game world, and the chance to truly play your way through the game as you want to without being forced into combat situation after combat situation without alternate means to progress past many of them, which for all it's good points SoA still forces you into for the most part regardless of what class you pick, then PS:T is definatly a game worth picking up. Not to mention, it's dirt cheap.

OK I bought it, installed and put all the patches and mods that were suggested. The first thing that put the mood down a little bit was that you can't play it on 1024 resolution. I've even played BG1 with 1024 res with one weidu mod so I have gotten used to it. The second thing that was disappointing was the graphical appearance. It is darker than BG2, which I like, but (sorry for saying) looks like crap. First of all there is the matter of taste and you can't argue about that. But there is good taste and bad taste. For me this is important cause I'm studying to be a designer and I have designed a lot of graphical layouts. I have even designed a graphical layout for one book, so I know what is good and what is bad. This is not good. The positive thing was the talking options that lead me to the mood again despite the awful appearance. I will try and play the game trough cause it seems to have a cool RPG feeling to it and maybe I'll get some joy out of the plotline and good dialogue options. Thanks for the tip man
