I previously done this one with 2 other chars but this time I cant seem to manage it!
Char is a tremere female , I place the cameras and activate them and then sneak out without been noticed [or so I think ] and head back to the warrens to see Imalia and I even check my quest log to make sure everythings is cool , but when I speak to the Imalia she freaks out out and says I messed it up!!
Ive done it about 5 times now with the same result, its a bit frustrating trailing all the way back, is this a bug or am I doing someting wrong!

Nope I've done it a million times in a row and done it perfectly and she still gets mad. This time around (with my malk) I'm going to sneak, obfuscate -and- notarget and see if it's just a bug
will report my findings.

it appears that if there is 100% even if they don't react to your presence, it counts as a fail. it could happen when you are activating the computer rather than the cameras, but it is really troublesome - Imalia in the game treats you as a mission-accomplished per laptop, yet when you get back she's mad.
however, it is do-able in a number of ways - obfuscate, sneak & trance work well - I even did it by necking them both when their backs were turned! that is not as easy as it sounds, i did tawni in the kitchen, but i waited until her boyfriend went to the toilet and was concentrating on his stream. he is so loud he does not hear you sneak up. can be done, but it is a long way to go to find you've failed.

hmm I did try using trance, same result, I was starting to believe that it did nt allow you to use trance!
I actualy cant see any reason why you shouldnt be able to do a for ced suicide on the boy friend, afterall dominate is not a masquerade violation, so it should have no bearing on the mission.

Obfuscate works but if you don't have it I'd do what Celacena says...

Necking
Unfortunately, "necking" them is the only way I've been able to complete this mission, but it is still a failure when I go back to Imalia.

K
which disciplines have you available?
you CAN complete it by necking, but only if you get them from behind without them seeing you - you need the stealth-kill icon up and if you neck as a stealth-kill you don't appear to be noticed, even if you don't drain them fully.
alas this buggy episode which doesn't state mission-failure is going to remain a bane.

Facing the Same Problem
I was successful with this quest the first time around and now whenever I seem to do it I just cant succeed. I am a Male Toreador and I use the Auspex ability throughout so I am guessing as long as the characters are outlined in green u r safe. Also another thing I noticed was if her bf has pulled out his gun then the mission has failed already even if imalia has given an all clear when u hook up the comp to the three cameras. Its getting to e really painful trudging back and forth. Wish I could slash her face and make her even more uglier than she already is. Really frustrated. Any more insight would be helpful coz I still cant understand wat i am doing wrong. About the 100% detection, I think u r right. Will try again.

Well Ive managed to complete this one quite a few times now without much trouble and it's just all about timing!
Thing is dont rush and use plenty of F9s and yes if they make any indication that they are suspicious you ve had it !
I found the worst one is if she is standing nr the table in the entrance, I think theres a bug where she can see you thru the wall, thing is if this happens you might not notice that shes seen you, coz all she does is stand and look in your direction for a while before moving away and behaving as normal.
I normaly keep reloading my quick save , since Ive noticed she isnt always in the same place every time, sooner or later It starts with her walking to the kitchen and its easy to walk behind her and place the first cam on the cupboard behind the couch, now if the boy friend is sitting on the couch, I stay there till he goes to the toilet and and I follow thru into the next room and place the cam on the bed side table and then hide behind the screen till he comes out!
He wiill sometimes make a phone call so youve got to wait till hes gone and then go put the one in the bathroom.
The its do the computer bit, and wait for him to go to the bathroom again then all you have to do is sneak out, I have never noticed Tawny come out of the kitchen again once she has gone in! But the seqence does start with her coming out of the kitchen and walking to the door sometimes!
If this happens aI reload as before and start again!

imalia
this quest is just destined to fail. I was a malk female. I used my disciplines went un-noticed and activated the cameras and got out.. walked all that way back to her and she was pissed saying I messed it up. *sigh* Im guessing yet another bug in this game

I had a lot of trouble with this quest as well. The things that worked for me were wearing light armour and using blood buff to boost my dexterity (then watching the stealth meter, and any 100% red or ! warrented a reload). Then throw in lots of Trance, or the demention level 1 power. Although, even then the guy is really a huge pain in the ass, especially when he sits on the couch.
The Gangrel I used couldn't finish this quest. The whole flock of ravens is weak compared to trance and always gives you away.
With any clan except Malk, Nos, Ventrue, or Tremere I think I'll just kill the girl.
The quest is barely worth the 2 XP, although the paper is funny.
BTW has anyone found a use for the level 2 domination power? The only thing I've ever found it useful for is re-enabling dialogue with NPCs I've just drained (like Venus or the downtown merchant or the docter in the clinic basement or Malcom or the staff at the Red Spot, etc).
