if you are talking about the ruins that the dude in the fighters guild tells you to go to i can help you.

head south out of balmora and turn left at the small bridge, walk over the bridge and proceed east, you should see an imperial fort, walk past it (left)
and you should see a bridge with somebody on it, kill him, and walk across.

now you should be at the ruins.

and avoid taking the watchtower sign, that's the one with the detect spells, right? Forget those, they are ****. Instead, take the Lady one. Though it might not suite your character specifically, it is probably the best for a starting player. Or the steed.

IMHO the atronach is the best for all characters, but the lady and steed are okay for starting characters since they give strong attribute boosts and those do not require any knowledge of the game to take advantage of. I like the steed with an argonian or Kajiit. Very fast.

I've heard Suran is a good place to steal because it effects very few quests. Creeper in Caldera is the best place to sell. Easy to get to and you get the best prices.

I know this isn't my thread or anything, but I have a pretty good character build. It's a BattleMage (Magic/Fighter) and here are what skills I would reccomend:

Major: Alteration, Destruction, Alchemy, Conjuration, Illusion
Minor: Long Blade, Medium Armor, Mysticism, Mercantile, Armorer
Sign: The Lady
Race: Breton

The reasons for these skills are: Alteration (because you can always just get an open spell and not have to worry about picking locks ever again, and you can levitate quickly anywhere you would like to go) Alchemy (because it levels you up quickly by just constantly making potions and also funds your adventures by selling them to mudcrab) Conjuration (so you can summon creatures and loot their bodies, and also so you can command mudcrab to follow you back to the town of your choice) Illusion (so you can stay invisible and get past creatures/characters you would like to avoid) Long Blade (This can be substituted with blunt weapon or short blade, or really anything you would like, but I just make a ring with constant bound longsword so you have a godly weapon that is weightless)...............well I was going to finish this but i have to go..... I may be back later to update

u need to have merc at 30 and about 100gp with a merch that really likes you (disposition of 80 or more) get him to 90 and buy and sell back making a profit each time, this is the key to an invicible character, remember, money is power.
