POR2 Missing Registry ???

While running DirectX Diagnostic Tool on my Windows XP Home system the following showed up under 'Network' tab, in the 'Registered Lobbyable Direct Play Applications' section "Pool of Radiance2 error (58e291d5-0693-11d5-8a99-00902766d001)". And then under 'Notes', it further states "The Registry Information for the DirectPlay Application Pool of Radiance2 is missing or damaged. You should reinstall that application."
Please, will some knowledgeable expert explain what this means and then offer a solution, all in laymens terms.
Some background...I've been playing POR2 for just over 2 years, off & on, and right from the get go I've had problems with crashes in the catacombes and beyond. The worst is in trying to get the Draedsweord in room 4 of the Prisons.
I'm curious to know if this "Missing Registry" is the source of these crashes?
Any help at all would be appreciated, thanks....

Simplest solution: move your saved game directory, uninstall your game, reboot, reinstall the game, move back your saved game directory, update, then try playing.

Thanks for the quick response. No problem with uninstall, reboot, reinstall, but, as a computer illiterate I need some some explicit directions on moving my saved game directory and then moving it back....I have no idea how to start!! Thanks for your patience...

Often the savegame map is conveniently placed in the game's map.

Since you're 'computer illiterate' this map can be find somewhere in Program Files (or try the windows 'search' function ;) )

Then you'll have to rightclick that map (probably called SavedGames or PlayerFiles or something, you'll see...) and select cut.

Than you go paste it somewhere else (on your desktop is fine, since you'll have to cut and paste it back to where you installed the game again.)

After re-installation you cut the copied map (the same way you copied it before, remember, only this time cut ;) :) ) and paste in in the map where you installed the game. (Déjà vu feeling this last sentence... )

(If it asks to overwrite, click yes...)
