Like above I am going to give Morrowind another shot, and maybe finish it. I got stuck at Krogrhune (SP?) and deleted my game off my Xbox. I want to start again, and have a few questions.

Race: I perfer argonian or Dark Elf, but if one is better than the other just give me your opinion
Class: I always go custom I like to combine fighting iwth spells mostly mystisim and enchantment with light/heavy armor swords and blunt weapons.

I have some other general questions. I want to know how enchanting works, becuase I can never figiure it out, maybe becuase I am just a noob, but still if somebody could explain to me the syestem like I am a 5 year old would be great. I also would like to know where I could find some glass armor early in the game, becuase I hear people can find a set early, but I can never find any  . I also would like to know which eggmine contains the deadric dia-katana. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

steps for enchanting:

1: have an open soulgem in your inventory
2: cast soultrap on a creature or person
3: kill whatever you casted soultrap on, now you will have traped their soul in the soulgem
4: use a soulgem as if you were equiping an item
5: select the item you wish to enchant, add what spells you want it to have, and give it a name

NOTE:

in order to enchant an item with an ability you must know a spell that has it. i.e. to enchant an item with fire you must have a spell that has fire damage

there are 3 types of enchantments, cast on strike, cast when used, and constant effect. constant effect items can only be made with a grand soulgem with either an ascended sleeper or a golden saint

most enchantments are very likely to fail (especially at lower levels), and destroy your gem along with the soul inside.

For Glass Armor:

the quickest way to get glass armor early is to go to Ghost Gate. to get there i go to balmora, then go east up towards the dwemer ruin. when you get to the bridge that the random guy with an iron cuirass and battle axe attacks you, drop down to that road under the bridge (well not really a road, more of a valley between the mountains). then follow the road north until you get to Ghost Gate. look around there, inside is a smith that has a full suit of glass armor on display.

WARNING:

when i first started out and ran up to ghost gate, i never made it. kept dyin from stupid cliff racers. i had to steal that invisibility potion from the alchemist shop in balmora to get me there.

Dia Katana

The Dia Katana is on the body of a Dead Hero in the Maesa-Shammus Egg Mine. This mine is east of Mt. Assarnibibi (marked on your paper map). Inside the mine, the body is lying behind some rocks in the Queen's lair.

Here is a link to a good web site i found that tells you where to find a lot of things. http://www.buttersky.com/morrowind/

For race, I would highly recomend argonians, namely because they're immune to poison and resistant to most other things, not to mention their coolness, provided you get a good head/horn combo. I think the fact that they can't wear footwear is kinda cool ; it looks all cool and abstract, like a puzzle with a single unimportant piece missing.

I would have to disagree with Alien_Newborn. The immunity they have really isn't that great, and not being able to wear shoes really sucks. I like to be able to wear shoes because of the Boots of Blinding Speed. These boots give you a constant effect of 200+ to speed. It does have the negative effect of casting blind on you, but once you get a high enough willpower and maybe some Magice Resistance items the blindness doesnt effect you. It is so much easier walking around the world with a fast character.

Now as to what is the best race to use...it all depends on what type of character you want. For a magic user i would use a Brendon. For a Warrior I like the Redguards. For a theif the Kajitt is best. But for the best all around character I like the Dark Elf.

Well race depends on how YOU are... patient or impatient. Normal or Beast race :D

Me I'm patient, I got a nice Argonian character *planned* I haven't yet started him since, with my patience, comes laziness ;)
