... is to see some changes in the tip - bar, where it should be much more tips concerning not only game play but the story-line itself.
How about you?

I think they should incorporate a Planescape esque controlling dias, that was very useful and would also mean that you could play most of the game with the character and options bars hidden.

The tip bar is the stuff you get when you save right?Like this (while your characters don't need food remember you do).Or is it something else?

i think u are right, i think the tip-bar (the one u get when entering or saving)
should also tell something about the story or have much more tips.
because it think i read all the tips a 100 time already, i think u read all the tips a 100 already when u play the game the first time.
They become anoying!

I think the tip-bar is an anachronism. It means nothing, and is only included because it's been part of CRPGs since Origin Systems and Sir-Tech did their first respective Ultima and Wizardry games, years ago. But today's CRPGs are a lot more sophisticated, and tips really come out of gameplay. Originally, gameplay was nothing but combat and exploration, with hardly any dialog.

You know, in BG2, I've never used tips, not even on my first run-through, before I accessed any of the boards. It just never occured to me, since I was saving my gold for wand recharging and weapons. ;)

ki-master: yeap, that's it

Red Inquisition: Cheers mate!

TheDude: Totaly agree

fable: the question is not if tip-bar is anachronism or not; in my opinion it would be most helpful for us beginers since i'd love to have an oversight on the gameplay and/or on the story line.

Peace.

I have a different beef with the tip-bar. I play the game with the text window minimized. Occasionally, though, the tip-window displays a longer message, and jacks the window to medium size.

Minor kvetch, I know, but it's annoying.

I agree that more tips with a "from inside the game" feel would help. As it is, it displaces the gaming experience.
