As I have been a fan from the beginning of crownhead's thread about the wizardslayer/mage dual combo, I have decided to try it for myself. The only thing is I read how he could use stoneskin but for me it is shaded read to where i cant use it and therefore cant memorize or cast it :( . Anyone have any ideas whats wrong? If nothing else I will just use SK to add it to my mage book...
Thanks for future help.

Just the one spell? If all are greyed out, it could be a matter of wearing armor or wielding a weapon mages "shouldn't" use.

I am currently playing a game of BG2 with a Kensai-Mage, and the Stoneskin scroll is shaded red for him as well. I was able to scribe the scroll and cast the spell from my spellbook, but I am unable to place it in the quickslot bar, for some ridiculous reason...

This is a genuine guess, but could it be due to an oversight in programming? Here is my reasoning: Stonesking was in BGI and BGII, and maybe two different item codes exist for the scrolls- one from the first game and another from the creation of the second. If this is true, programmers could have used two different codes for what is, in terms of the game, the same item. Maybe you can't use some scrolls because both codes aren't enabled for some reason...

Hmm, I will go in search of a scroll I can use seeing as I am trying not to cheat this time through at all.

Have you tried scribing the 'red' scroll already?
