Resurrecting Sarevok in T.O.B.

I've read various posts about people debating whether to resurrect Sarevok and have him join their party,or leave his deceased state unaltered.Just wondered if anyone has considered the third, riskier option : to resurrect him,and send him on his way?

Potentially dangerous?Possibly, but this whole scenario reminds me of the conversation between Gandalf and Frodo in The Lord Of The Rings, about Gollum.Gandalf states that he has little hope of Gollum being cured of his evil side before he dies, but that he still has a part to play in the events about to unfold.

For anyone who has read aforementioned story and knows how it ends, perhaps Sarevok (unwittingly) saves the PC?

I don't think sarevok has anymore evil intentions because he's bonded with you after you revived him.I don't think he can go his own way killing ppl.

I've seen that part of the game, and your choice is 1) to resurrect him for your party, or 2) to leave him alone. Note that if you do add him, you're in for hell from an old friend who makes a surprising appearance.

@fable: Lemme guess, Gorion?

I'd like to point out as someone did earlier; you need to sacrifice yet another stat to bring Sarevok back. :( As for Irenicus, I'd imagine that if by some impossibility he ever came back, you could cut a deal with him and help him trash Suldanesselar: it would be a cool quest because you'd go out looking for another Bhaalchild so Irenicus can have a soul. Even though this probably won't happen for the expansion, i just think it would be cool to make ammends and team up with old enemies.

@Sprinkles, I've received many inquiries over the matter of the person or thing you'll confront if you add Saverok to your party, and I feel obliged not to comment. Long ago, I signed an NDA for Interplay, and anything shown behind closed doors at E3 means, IMO, it's still in force.

I do like the idea of teaming up with old enemies--and even discovering that old allies or friends, perhaps those you once traveled with, now oppose you. One of the few good moments in Ultima IX was discovering that each of your former allies had been mind-controlled into opposing you; only it's a shame that Garriott pose weightier ethical issues by making their conversions a matter, at least in part, of choice.

Actually, it's Jimmy Hoffa. Not terribly surprising, huh? ;)

It can only be either Gorion or Elminster (in my opinion, as always)

Not really. You could tell it was coming. You know, all the clues.

On a serious note its probably Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega's expanding to the pcnow.

On a even more serious note, there's probab;y no new npc. Bioware just wants to piss everybody off. I'm quite seriouos. Maybe oyu could get Elminister to help a bit .

Speaking of NPC betrayals, my evil party just poisoned the Druid grove. Jaheira and Minsc both attacked of course, and were put down by my faithful little friend Korgan. They both got gibbed

Well, now Jaheira can rot in hell with Khalid while Minsc searches for his 'witch' amongst the flames my stout little tank has sent them to :D

It's Boo. He can't stand the idea of Sarevok joining the party so he goes on a rampage and kills everyone except Minsc. ;) :D

I don't get what possible motivation you can have for bringing Sarevok back to life. From a Good standpoint, Sarevok was irredeemably evil and murdered countless people, including Gorion. From a pragmatic Neutral standpoint, you destroyed Sarevok and all his plans. Now he can never attain the godhood he desires. I think it likely that he would hold a grudge, and even if he was bound to you by a piece of your soul, he would try to find some way out of it. From an Evil standpoint, well, hell, why would an Evil character sacrifice anything for anyone else? Least of all a competitor for the Throne of Bhaal.

Could one of you people who are planning to resurrect Sarevok tell me what possible motivation you could have to do so? Insanity and the fact that he's a badass fighter do not count.

Damn, well there go points 2 and 3. ;) :p

I honestly don't know why, but I'm definitely 100% sure that I'm taking big bro with me!

More that I think about it, firstly, it would be because he is such a cool character. The fact that he's evil (and my pc is good) just makes things interesting.

Secondly, I would be very interested to see all the dialogue options he has with all the NPC's. His voice is cool too... almost as good as Minsc's :)

Apart from that, I just think it would be a pretty good twist to have him with you. :)

But sarevok doesn't join you for no reason right? He DOES have a reasonto be loyal to you but what reason could that be?Maybe he does ahve a heart but that's kinda weirdoffcourse. However I like the idea of teaming up with old enemies too.But theres 1 problem I think jaheira and minsc will object and maybe non party members too.Its cool to have your sister(imoen) and brother(sarevok) in your party though :)

I think Sarevok will be forced to be loyal to your protagonist since (I've heard) the only way to ressurrect him is to sacrifice a bit of your own divine essence.

Hmm,check this out...
...since it ends the Bhaal saga, the expansion pack, fittingly enough, resolves the problem of who claims the throne. There are only 5 Bhaal-spawn left, one of them being a very powerful fire giant who has an army of his kin besieging the city of Saradesh...
I got the info from this review

The developers do this very cleverly. Saverok makes it plain that he yearns once again for the taste of life. He's sick of being dead and grey. He offers not just his services in your party, but some very useful knowledge concerning your whereabouts and potential paths--a little like the knowledge Nalia provided when you went through her father's stronghold. You don't need him for it, but it sure helps.

His taint of the Bhaalspawn has also been removed by his death, so he's no longer a threat. And he craves the thrill that comes with causing the death and misery of others, which he knows, from watching, follows in your wake. As a murder junkie, he wants to hang out with you.

He also swears to serve you on the spirit of his father and his mother, which, in the place you're at, has magical potency.

Well if you are good shouldn't you want to take him along and maybe turn him to good?
