I allready understood that the NWN module stands on it's own and that the story of the expansions do not relate
however I would like to understand something else...
shadows of undertide, is it the first part of a story continued in HOU? or are these 2 expansions have nothing to do with one another...?
thanks in advance.

sou and hotu are slightly linked. the story works a bit better going from sou to hotu.

that being said, it really doesn't matter if you choose to play the oc instead as lead in to hotu, or find another way to come up w/ a high enough level char for hotu.

I really don't understand why they insisted on creating such a fumbled up bunch of modules and called it a game, if they indeed have nothing to do with one another it's pretty dumb...
oh well

Well, HoTU sort of links the OC and SOU. Many of the NPCs in the official campaign make a return appearance in HoTU. At the same token, SOU and HOTU are linked in that they share a protagonist. So, in that sense, the three adventurers are linked. The actual stories have nothing to do with one another, though.

The thing to keep in mind about NWN is that its not designed simply for a single player experience. The expansions were as much about "expanding" the module creating tools in the first NWN as any single player story. With all three NWN the single player stories take a back seat to this mod-creating dimension.
