I've just got ToB and my party is in Saradash, when I say something mean to the boy whose father got killed by catapult fire, I lose 1 point of rep, is it so easy to lose rep in other parts of ToB?

well, to be fair, it is very easy to GAIN rep points in TOB as well. It's just the game designer's way of adding a sense of balance to that system (i.e., not favoring losing or gaining rep points).
