ive been playing morrowind for ages now.. but only in recent times have i looked at screen shots of other peoples game.. their water looks stunning... everybodys but me.. the water in my game is flat, dull and lifeless.
can anybody point me in the right direction to fix this?
i have a good comp so i just need to fix some settings i think.
any help is greatly appreciated.

fair enough, but im talking about reviews of the game.. they have comments on how good the graphics is, and they have screens of the water and it looks great... thats why i havent gone looking for a mod, because as far as i have read it should automaticly be that good lol

There are settings for light, including light on the water, that you can make in your morrowind.ini file that adjust its appearance. But you won't want to do that unless you have 1) a good graphics card; 2) a fast CPU.

Rather than simply change those settings, try downloading this mod. It's Jarrod's water mod. I recommend it because it involves a lot less personal experimentation/tweaking with the INI file. If that still doesn't look good enough, then I'll give you a link to a discussion I took part in on the ES forums about INI changes to lighting.

You need a graphics card which supports pixel shading. It's included in all ATI Radeons 8500 and up I guess and the equivalents GeForce cards. I'm not sure though. I had a ATI Radeon 7500 and I didn't have pixel shading, thus the water looked dull. I have a GeForce4 TI 4200 now and the water looks stunning.

If you haven't done it yet check the craphics card's preferences and watch out for options associated with pixel shading. Play around with settings. Dunno if that helps.

If you still need Jarrod's water mod, there's an early version of it (1.0) up at Morrowind Summit.
