Hello everyone ! :D

Let's say I'm a noobie and I can't decide which way choose. Finally, I've got 15000 gold, so that I can choose between thieves and vampires. If I use help of Shadow Thieves I'll have to fight with hard-to-kill vampires. But when I choose Bohdi and her dark friends Keldorn leaves my party. He is really strong, so I don't want lose him. I'm stuck. Who should I choose? Or is there any other way to save Imoen ?

You can't go wrong either way. I would suggest you listen to your party members' remarks upon receiving Bodhi's offer, and keep in mind their individual personalities. Bioware's writing in the game is never more impressive than in these brief comments, which not only stay very close to character but also give a varied perspective on how different people would regard this choice. Some are more intuitive than others. You can't avoid this fork in the road. To rescue Imoen, you must select either the Thieves or Bodhi.

As a suggestion, if you want to go with the Shadow Thieves but fear confronting vampires with a low level party, try finishing as many quests as you can before you actually cough up the money to the Thieves. Bodhi won't actively come after you until you actually fork over the cash to her enemies. Having a good cleric with undead-affecting spells is a must to first-time players, regardless of which group you decide to favor.

If you got a good cleric in your party I'll suggest Shadow thieves, due to the Restoration spell (Not the lesser one, even though that's nice as well)

For the lesser one; Do it as soon as one of your strong characters is level drained, or as soon as your protagonist is level drained (As he's the most important, you rather wanna wait until someone level drains him, if it's in middle of a fight i.e.)

For the big one; Just use it when more than 2 gets level drained or hardly injured, or as soon as your protagonist get's hardly injured.

Start: Slight Spoiler!

If you've got a high lvl cleric with a 2 level 7 abilities, the vampires is a breeze, the fake dawn, or the sunray (Really really powerful spell) and the "amulet of power" as you'll receive from Aran Linvail will prevent your cleric from getting level drained.

End: Slight Spoiler!

Aerie is not that good as cleric, due to that fact, that it requires some helluva experience for getting 2 level 7 cleric abilities, (In my opinion i.e.)

Whichever way you chose, solve the Mae'Var quest first. Once you've sided with Bodhi, it's no longer available.

Good for you! Slaughter them until they're dead. Oh, well, I guess they already are, but until they stop getting up. Use stakes! Just a recommendation: I always go with the Shadow Thieves if I'm a good aligned character, simply because they are the lesser of two evils and killing vampires is so fun! If I'm neutral, I go for whatever sounds best to me and my party, and if I'm evil, I always go with Bhodi. Who wouldn't want to befriend an extremely powerful vampire if they were evil?!
