need help in tutorial

I am playing the tutorial as a malkavian, and in one part you have to use mass hallucination in order to kill the two sabbat enemys. I have tried to use it and it works fine and i can kill them, but the dialog screen will come up and say that i didnt use the mass hallucination and it makes me start over again and wont let me go any further., until I do kill them. please help, thanks

Sounds like an odd bug. With Dementation you should just have to have it up, while you slaughter the thugs. All I can suggest is to make sure the timer on it doesn't run out before the thugs are dead. Likewise, make sure you have the correct ability selected. If this doesn't work, you might try starting a new game (with patch) and see if you encounter the problem again.

this happened to me as well, but after a few tries I realised the Mass Hallucination wore off on the second enemy by the time I'd killed him. I guess you just have to use it a few times if you're not a very speedy killer (I know I'm sure as hell not!)
if that's not the case, then sorry, I have no idea...

same happened to me
I have played the game twice, once without the patch and once with. When I was playing as a Tremere, with the patch, it said I hadn't used Purge to kill the Sabbats, when I had. I finally had to start a new game and use "Just the basics" response to Jack to skip the tutorial all together. I didn't have this problem before I got the patch.
