Multiplayer and Dual Class issue

Two questions:

1 - Is there any point in playing the game in single player mode aside from dealing with annoying dialog from Imoen and the like? I know about the romances and couldn't care less. I just want to know if I am missing something by creating my game in the multiplayer, building my party and then copying the save directory over to the single save directory...

2 - I have and issue with my dual class Kensai -> Mage attempt. I wanted him to have the hit point from the Kensai and then learn to be a mage, but I can't dual class him. I have tried a number of things but nothing seems to work. The stats should be good for both, but the dual class button is grey'd out. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any assistance. Chau!

Your character has to be human to dual-class - is this the problem?

Your strenght is too low to dualclass. It has to be 15.

Thanks about the strength tip...That must be the problem...

Anyone have any suggestions on the first question about playing multiplayer vs. single...ie, using NPC's or not..

Thanks again!

There is a difficult question.
Going solo, sure you can do that, but AD&D 2nd edicion is doing things with a party. The party menbers cover each other weakness and as a hole they became stronger. Solo is trying to do all things by themselfs, it´s a lot harder but some people try that.it´s a matter of personal choise.

Actually what I meant was whether it was worth playing with room in my party for NPC's or if I could get the same enjoyment from using the six characters I created...

I prefer creating the party myself and playing. Being forced to use one player and pick up a bunch of NPC's was not my idea of the most fun. I could prolley get away with leaving one or two slots open for NPC's but I would rather just build my six and leave it at that.

So...would I be missing out on much other and Imoen's insipid dialog?

IMHO build 5 and leave a slot open.If you kick one of your own out he is gone for good.
That way you can do all the quest.

I think playing the game without NPCs is a lot more boring. for one thing you dont get to romance. but your party would be a lot better if you created each member so its still a matter of choice
