I discovered that using the thorium charges used to open Uthar Wynn's quarters can also be used to open the 1st cache (next to the dead mandalorian) you see on dxun. Although you can get another extra by killing and taking them from akkiere, the merchant outside the administration center on dantooine.

Is this a question? Or are you giving us an answer to an, as yet, unasked question?

It's alright, I just thought I'd missed the point and you did want help but if you were just sharing knowledge then perhaps you can elaborate for me- is killing Akkerre the only way to get his charges from him?

Just make sure that you DO NOT have both Thorium charges (from Korriban and Akkere) when you set it because the game will use both charges to open a door and you will be stuck on the other door (learn it the hard way).

Well, this is good enough for another retry... still discovering something new every time through. Great replayability, this game.

Soiler for Dantooine -
You can also pick up some charges from the monkey dude selling parts outside of Khoonda is you kill him... I think those ones were meant for blasting the stuck door open in the med bay.

The door in the medbay of Dantooine just needs to be accessed from the outside right near where you kill/forgive Akkere. I don't think you can use the thorium charges on that door you're talking about. From my experience, it pretty much just stays stuck, you just need to go around it.
