i have just decided that sense this is my first time through bgII and tob with tactics installed i was going to make use of the acid katana thing so my question is who should i replace minsc with to use as my second tank dual wielding that acid katana and celestial fury my party is as follows

Choices :

Valygar (Stalker). He already have profiencies in Katanas, and can use them to backstab. Also have profiencies in Dual-Wield.

Mazzy. )Fighter) Since she's a fighter, she'll get alot of profiencies (1 per 3 levels). She can attain Grand Mastery with Katanas... but she'll have to wield only 1 Katana before being able to dual-wield (at least 2 points in 2 weap. style!). She's the only real fighter you can have, and with a few boosting items, she'll slice everything the game send at your easily! Also, you can switch to Bow if needed (5 stars!). She also have a self-healing spell (Lay On Hand type), a protection/remove fear, a Strenght-boosting spell and a haste!!!

Minsc. (Ranger) Can Dual-Wield... you just need to add him 1-2 profiencies in Katanas and he'll do the trick.

Haer'Dais. (Blade)
Can dual-wield. Just add 1 star in Katanas. He's a bit weak, but with Melodic Chain Main, and a few boosting items, be can be pretty powerful (Think of him as a Fighter/Mage/Thief... or something like this).

Yoshimo (Bounty Hunter) [Spoiler!!!]For the 1st part of the game only...[Spoiler!!!] He can already use them.... just add him 2 weapons style profiencies and he's rdy to use them.

NPC Mods :
Chloe (Kensai). Since she's a fighter, she will gain profiencies quickly.

I would go either for Mazzy or for Valygar... Mazzy can be an incredible tank, while Valygar will be used more as a Fighter/Thief... to backstab, scout, and fight as well!

I'd go for Minsc or Mazzy. Just give Mazzy a strength enhancing item and you're good to go for massive damage!
