Has anyone had any success getting the psycho sisters to reconcile? I've had persuasion as high as I could get it that early in the game and chosen the blue text persuasion answers every time. But every time I try eventually the persuasion answers stop and unless I tell one of them to grab the gun or "finish her off, the answers go into a loop and I go nowhere.

I was able to let them reconcile, I'm not sure, but I think I had a persuasion skill of 4, maybe 5.
But it's definitly possible.
GL with that.
Edit: I looked it up, you need persuasion skill of 4.

First time through as a Tremere, I was unable to get them to co-exist with eachother and Jeanette ended up killing her sister. I had the dialog "give me the gun" but it kept looping back to just telling them to kill eachother...
However second time through as a Malkavian, I was able to and had different dialog options as the story progressed and was able to tell them to give me the gun and they did.

It's fairly easy to get them to reconcile. You just need a persuasion of 4 which is fairly cheap to get. When you talk to them, you need to chose the nice responses, many of them will be highlighted in blue and they generally are the last dialogue choice. Successfully reconciling them nets you an extra experience point over siding with one sister against the other.

Now thats odd...
I am a Ventrue with a persuasion of 5 and although I went through the blue answers all the time, at the end , I was forced to choose between two sisters.
Maybe it depends on the clan...

this time
I always save before the conversation BTW
some of the correct responses ARE usually blue highlighted (always choose them when available) although not all of them are flagged up in that way. there are some responses that you have to guess at - like them being a power if they worked together, them once having got on, like telling one to let the other have more responsibility and the other to stop sabotaging the other's plans - there are a fair number of unflagged dialogue choices.
I sometimes have got stuck in the loop telling them to kill each other even with persuasion 5, but a few days back got them reconciled pretty quickly with no loops (as gangrel).
perhaps somebody could do a flow-chart of the responses...

During the entire conversation you must choose conversation lines that DO NOT favor either sister (you will have three choices). If you choose conversation line that contain a name (either Therese or Jeanette) you are considered favoring one sister over the other and you must choose. There is only one instance where you will be offered only two choices and then you will use both of them.

I'm not sure how much effect favoritism has, actually. My first time through the game (Ventrue clan), I favored Jeanette throughout their entire dialogue sequence up until the end, and I was able to reconcile them. I don't remember what my persuasion feat was at that time now, though.
Second time through the game (Tremere), my persuasion was only 3. I didn't even get the blue dialogue options that time. Ended up killing Therese off.
It may be worth noting that in both games I was as friendly/respectful as I could be towards both sisters up to that point, even choosing the seduction lines with Jeanette when I could.
Got a couple new games going now (one Toreador and one Nosferatu). Will have to check my skills when I get to this point and see how it goes.

As far as I know, I barely had to bother with persuasion lines. I don't think I've used more than one. I managed to get them to work together after countless fruitless attempts at being neutral, by being nice to each one in turn. The main moment was when Jeanette started talking about Therese's mistake or sin or whatnot, and that's where you have to tell Therese to let Jeanette talk. At least that's what happened to me. From that point on, I just made them talk and eventually they started talking to each other and voila! Split personality girl's all set.
That's how I remember it.

If you use blue text responses which are neutral, you'll end up hearing the story anyway as they both just keep talking and talking lol. "And blew his brains out all over the silly clown wallpaper." cracks me up every time along with as playing a Malkavian "Your minds are more messed up then mine."

I got my Tremere to get the ladies to reconcile. I used all the persuasion lines that appeared when they were available. I then used a line to the effect of "Go ahead kill each other" ...and then the option "Therese put down the gun" did the trick.

The only persuasion requirement for this encounter is that it be at least 4. However, there are other criteria required if you want to reconcile the sisters. A bug in the game was resulting in these criteria being ignored. The unofficial patches corrected this. Thus, just having persuasion 4 is no longer enough to reconcile them.
You just have to be nice to them. In every single dialogue you have with both personalites, you must tell them what they want to hear. Be seductive and playful with Jeanette. Be polite and flattering with Therese. Given the opportunity to bash one sister while the other is gone, take it.
Use common sense and avoid saying anything to either one of them that might upset them.

I suppose I could write a complete guide, but encompassing all the different dialogue options would take some time. For now, here's a shortcut:
The final dialogue with the twins happens right after the ambush in the Surf Side Diner. So either right before or right after that event, open the console and enter the following commands:
G.Jeanette_Seduce = 3
G.Therese_Seduce = 3
Besides having a persuasion of at least 4, those are the two variables checked. You can use values higher than 3 if you like. That's just the minimum required for the reconciliation dialogue.
That will pretty much have to work.

hmm thanks, i didnt think youd need seduction at all for this :/ fancy having those two viarables, kind of redicules if you ask me but thier you go, i suppose its worth a shot, i started again with my Trem just incase, so before surfside i suppose i have to seduce them? bah... or even before that other wise wont get the dialog, man so confused dont know why it was changed, it worked fine or so it seemd in 1.2
Ill give it a shot, also had a question abut the checkbox for skiping intro, i dont see that box at character creation screen, whats it look like were should it exactly be located?

You don't need to use seduction if you have the unofficial patches installed. Even without them, you'd only need to use it on Jeanette. G.Jeanette_Seduce and G.Therese_Seduce are just variable names. These variables are used to gauge how much each sister likes you. No more, no less. If you want to know why they were named in this fashion, you'd have to ask the developer who wrote the scripts.
The location of the "skip intro" checkbox will vary depending on what screen resolution you play the game on. I play on 1280 x 1024 and it appears just below my rightmost discipline. On 1024 x 768 it will be right above the option to turn auto leveling on. I've never played at any resolution lower than that, so I don't know where it would be in that case. It might not appear at all for all I know.

That's how it worked for me. In previous dialogs, be playful with Jeanette and polite with Therese so their disposition to you is correct and have Persuasion of 4 before entering the Asylum from the Diner. Chose the Blue text or neutral text untill you get to the three choices:
1) Give Jeanette more responsibility
2) Stop sabatoging your sisters plans
3) Go ahead and shoot each other
Choosing 3) kills it for me. Chose either 1 or 2, side with either "Janus" and on the next dialog choice side with the other. The rest of the conversation sweetens nicely.
Also, if you all ready know what the NPC will say and want to skip it and get to your dialog choice, hit the space bar.
Wesp5, thank you for your hard work making a great game even better.

You have to, during the final conversation, with the sisters, you need to talk to both of them, and persuade them to talk and not kill each other. It's not all persuasion answers, but they are important. Getting the gun is important.
