Hi I'm on the last level in the Dragon Eye and I've got a problem.
At day four when I exit to the Fields of Slaughter (Just before the fight with Izabelah, when you must stop her frrom casting Temporal Stasis ) the game shuts of and it doen't matter how many times I reload this place the problem is the same. Is it a bugg or what?
Thankful for answer, Chosen

One more thing: what is the most efective way of killing Izabelah?

Try casting Malision or Greater Malision followed by Finger of Death. This combination worked for me.

The keyword is: RUN. You have a little time and it takes sooo long to get to her! There's no chance to defeat her without Haste. Once you reach her, unleash your tanks on her and use as much disabling spells as possible rather than offensive spells. She's not that hard to knock out.

Well, thanks guys but I still got no answer on my first question: why the game shuts down when I trying to exit to the Fields of Slaughter?
Well, thanks guys but I still got no answer on my first question: why the game shuts down when I trying to exit to the Fields of Slaughter?
Chosen
That is an extremely diffucilt question to answer. I have not faced, or heard of anyone else facing, that problem before. As such, I would think that it is not the fault of the game. Either way, you should check and see if there are any error messages after the game stalls. Does your entire system also hae a problem after that? Or just the game?
There are known problems with saves games, and one of the first things suggested that you try is reload a saved game that is further back and see if the same problem sitll occurs. Otherwise, the only suggestion is to check for error messages that might be returned after that and search it up... or post it up here (or another forum) and see if anyone can help. Without more information, it would require long-range mind-reader to help you..
or a computer-processor-reader.
As for Izbelah, another aid, would be to get a pair of Boots of Speed and take the left route, preferably with a rogue, or monk, or someone with the Dash feat. Try it a few times, for you may get trapped by the rockfall, but you ay actually dash through. That would save much more time than attempting the long way to the right.
Also you can go to the theather and, again, run in from the north, if you find it rather hard to get past her summons from the south. Ranged attacks are good, acid, just pelt her with magical arrows and bolts, if you do not have characters fast enough.

Just because things are screwing up, doesn't mean that you have a virus. For starters, there are similar bad things to viruses, but most virus checkers don't pick that stuff up. I suggest you run a spybot check, like Spybot Search and Destroy or Adaware, as those programs pick up different things.
Anyway, I would believe there is a problem with your hard ware. Check the temperature on your pc after running it for about an hour. If it is too high, you may have previously fried the chip after it got extremely hot.
P.S. Here is the link for SpyBot 1.3
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
P.P.S. Spybot is free, yet I find it is an excellent program. Adaware meanwhile costs money, I suggest Spybot, but it is up to you.
Here is the link to buy it (not that I would recommend it)

Cheers, and good luck.

A lot of people seem to have similar problems at different stages of the game, though. Game quits, cutscenes freeze, areas don't load... These are not caused by the game itself I believe.,

I agree with you, Brynn, such a problems is quite common. But if it is not a game (which I think it isn't) what is this??? It isn't a virus anyway...And such things happens long after you installed the game on the PC.
Odd.

Did you try running either of those afore-mentioned programs. The things that those programs pick up can cause damage, I had a computer that completely froze because of that stuff, I had to plug the hard drive into another computer and clean it up before it would work.

Hardware config, probaly (inproper drivers and such), or maybe the game simply doesn't like the new generation of graphic cards... (problems always arise when you buy new hardware... A hundred year old game that was happy with a 4MB S4 won't run on a Radeon 9200...) *shrug* dunno, I'm no tech expert, unfortunately. In cases like this I always try reinstalling and modifying graphics setting, that's the best I can do...

It can be an accumulation of various things, like changes to our config or an installation of a new hardware, which for all reasons should have no impact to an application (the game in this matter), but some how does. The whole thing with software is that no one can say with any finality what it will and will not do. Even new drivers can screw up what usually ran without problem.
dj_venom has reason to ask you to perform virus and spyware scans. While not exactly a virus that directly causes your problems, it can eat up system resources or change other things to indirectly cause such problems... leading to similar sudden crashes at practically random points all over the game.
Now that I come to think of it, perhaps it CAN be a game bug.. one that is related to reading data from saved games (often rectified by reloading an earlier saved game, in hopes that the problem has not occured yet). Since IWD2 is has a complex data retrieval where what probably ignorable event in chapter 1 can cause an alternate solution to be available in chapter 6 or not, the game might not surprisingly run on partially dynamic scripts which are your saved games. As these scripts are generated in a certain manner, those who do the same thing as you (such as casting a chromatic orb at a held opponent) might cause these strange incidents.. while highly unlikely, new patches to your system may cause it to happen, where it originally did not.

That's right. I have sg on my computer atm, I know, but I cannot remove it with my current antivir software

iexplorer.exe is running in the backgroung all the time, I cannot kick it even with the task manager. (The fact that I never use Internet Explorer makes it even more wierd, I always use Maxthon browser).
My point is, you too may have something running in the background that you don't see, but still it can eat up your memory.

For the bug, I have no foggy idea.
For the strategy, that's the only place in game where I encourage using ORS (Otiluke's sphere). A hasted character runs to the ferryman, everyone goes to the embassy, mage casts ORS on Izbellah, kill the rest at your leisure. Wait for ORS to end, kill Izbellah.
Good luck with the bug.

.
as ORS is from my point of view a cheesy tactic - I just want to point out that you don't need ORS to win this battle!
...when entering the level take 2 rounds to cast buffs on your party (haste is definetly needed) then let your mage-killers/tanks (at least 2 needed) run to her ignoring everything else
as your mage-killer/tanks ideally should have barb or monk levels for increased speed and boots of speed...
they will be fast enough with haste to arrive in time to have several rounds to kill her!
...use buffs in the 2 initial rounds that increase the damage output (tensers if you have a spell-sword)
or some divine self-buffs if you've a cleric/monk based tank!
...direct magic attacks on Izabelah I don't find that usefull...-...but didn't tried that much spells on her as the tactic above works well!

need help with Izbelah, dragons eye lvl 4
I am at the last part of the quest to disrupt Izbelah when she casts her temporal stasis spell. It is pretty hard and I don't know what to do. When I try to follow the walkthru, it always get messy. It is always someone who get stuck at the bouldertrap on the left side. I have only gotten to her one time and my O. resilent ball thingy didn't work.
Please help me if you know a good way to make her die.
Oswald Fiddlebender thanks you all!
