So far I have managed to avoid having to do this. but at the Observatory I really need to be able to feed on the fly. I have lots of blood packs but they are of no use to me if I have to stop to use them in combat. Is there any way to use a quick key on this??

The werewolf just kills me every time I get near the shed behind the observatory. My Celerity is not high enough to outrun this thing, and I'm getting just a bit tired of having to do the talking sequence with Nines over and over and over........

Well there are somecheat commands you can use. Noticeably, god or godmode will make you impervious to the attacks. Similarly, Blood 500 will give you extra blood to withstand attacks. notarget 0/1 will make you invisible to enemies, including the werewolf, if you just want to do that to get away.

As for legimitate ways to quickly heal, I'm not sure of any. The werewolf isn't too difficult to deal with or kill if you look at some of the strategy threads on this board.

What you need is quality, not quantity. You can have as many Blood Packs as you want, but they renew Blood Points, not health. Blue Blood Packs are better at renewing both Blood Points and health, but Elder Vitae is far and away the best. If you want to survive the Werewolf, invest in 4 Elder Vitae. They effectively give you two extra lives. That much is enough.

Godmode works on the werewolf but notarget doesn't. I used it and he found me anyway...

Before going on the tram to Griffith Park, type "K" and set up your hotkeys. You can assign a key to give you blood immediately without having to go to inventory. I also F9--quicksave--right after Nines is attacked, so I don't have to talk to him again if the wolf kills me!!

I always thought, that game pauses, when you enter your inventory (with "i" key). In fact, I am pretty sure about it. Just don't use F1-F4 keys - everything is acsessible with "i" key.

the quick-keys default to blood packs in the higher numbers - when you hit those it works v quickly. 'I' pauses the game whilst you deal with inventory things - including 'equiping' with bloodpacks. the odious chalice (from Pisha)is the same as elder vitae when full and costs nothing.

I hit f9 when control is returned then again after I have waited out the timer crouching by the flaming trees.

if you leg it you can get past the werewolf and into the observatory with only a little damage. it is do-able without bloodpacks etc though.

god mode makes games too little challenge and once you use it, you don't want to struggle again, so it becomes addictive.

The first time around I did this with no cheats and Celerity works just fine.... it took about 10 times for me to get it spot on but it can be done..

Thanks for the information. I will probably assign hotkeys for later battles. Somehow I managed to lose the wolfie and heal, and save my game. After that I had a hell of a time finding him again! I could hear him cashing around breaking things, but I guess I must have been following him for a while. I did manage to find him, in the end, and squish him.

Using Inventory is actually a great thing to get anything... not just the things bound to the hotkeys. Actually I prefer just using the Inventory - the game pauses, and I can rest for a moment too Then I can comfortably choose a weapon or a blood pack or an armor, whichever I think best suits the situation and just get back to the game.

I always liked the pause-consider strategy in RPGs - this is the closest thing I found in VtMB. Too bad I can't do the same with the disciplines...

Use the 'I' key for the 'pause - consider' aspect, and practice memorizing how many mouse-wheel detents it takes to get from one discipline to another. In tight situations as a Tremere, I can suicide, purge, trance and blood-strike four NPCs in rapid succession, feed on a fifth, and repeat. Add a shotgun, and a group of six is child's play. The best thing to have as a skill, however, is the ability to have your left hand fly off and hit the escape key involuntarily. That reflex has saved me hundreds of times.
