It seems that once the first weapon is filled up with ammo, you can't take any more ammo for ANY weapon, which is pretty stupid. I have a full load of Colt ammo, but I can't fill up on crossbow quivers or anything else. If I drop a weapon to get more ammo for another weapon, I can NEVER pick the weapon up again. It just sits there on the floor, even though I've dropped everything else I don't need. And I don't get the "Inventory full" menu either - just can't pick up the weapon.

Is there a way to load up on all ammo without this kind of silliness and bs??

Well there is no way of carrying extra ammo and you can only carry a certain amount of guns and melee weapons. I have dropped weapons and then picked them up again so maybe your experiencing a bug. Well actually what I do is store weapons in like the fridge in Santa Monica and in chests in the other haven. Then when you want one of the guns, go get it.

there is an arbitrary limit on how many ranged weapons you can carry - when the ammo is full, you cannot pick up any more and when you have a full inventory, you can't pick up weapons then either.
I think you can have around six ranged weapons - and the best way to have them all available is to leave them in your haven - I spread them out in the kitchen area as well as use the chest/refrigerator. that way you can amass a complete arsenal and take what most helps invididual missions - bearing in mid which weapons you can pick up during that mission - to use then flog off.
