I want the Crom. I therefore needs that gauntlets you get in the Planarsphere. I have to get in there. I need Valygar. I don't want valygar in my party. Can I kill him and use his corpse to get in?
Plain and simple. ~~

Yes, you can.

Alternatively, you can add him to your party, then discharge him as soon as you enter the Sphere. Or remove him from your party after completing the Sphere quests. Unfortunately, you can't add another party member to replace him once you get in the Sphere, since it immediately visits another dimension.

Doesn't it enter another dimension after you open the main door in there. As such you can drop him once you enter and bring another person. At least I think that's how it works.

Playing full-party means that I have to leave a member there, get valy, go all the way to athkatla and... well... it's easier to just get his corpse.
And isn't it some kind of self-defensive function that warps you and happens after you killed lavok or something? That's what I remember, but as I usually never do it unless I want crom, well... hmph. :/

Yes - don't worry, you'll end back home after entering.
I've run through the Sphere with Valygar in my party, and with him in my knapsack, and in each case haven't had a problem.
G'luck!

I haven't ever gone through with the body of Valygar but...
(spoiler)
Do you still get all the experience for helping Lavok later, or do you miss out on some experience?
Thanks

@dj_venom - yes, you do. I don't recall if the conversation options were slightly different, but the quest stays the same and what you need to do to complete it does too. Same end result with the same goodies, too.

Thanks, I thought so but it doesn't hurt to be careful.
After all, in these days of games favouring lawful parties, you don't want to lose things for being evil

I remember thinking *exactly* the same thing (although, technically I was playing neutral)...
