Shooting down the Sith ships...;^^

I just got on the Ebon Hawk for the first time. The problem is, when I am supposed to shoot the Sith ships down, the most I can get is two. The radar doesn't help, even if it says I am aiming right at one, I can't see it and nothing happens if I fire. Plus, they move very fast...

Any tips? I know I am not very good... :(

Is it the PC or Xbox version you got - I think they are quite different.

:) Hi Maya, and Welcome to the Boared
Just lead, shooot where you think they are going to Fly. And in the Beginning (sp?) just imeaditly start shoot even if there is nothing on your screen, just start to shoot like crazy, beacuse they all come from the same place.

Yeah, there's no ammunition or energy reserve or anything, so you aren't penalized for just continuously firing the whole time. So go nuts with that trigger finger until it falls off. Also, the tip that Zenemij gave about immediately firing forwards randomly at the beginning is really helpful - you can often kill as many as half of the fighters in those first few seconds as they all buzz past you in a group.
The other thing that people haven't mentioned is that you can only hit the fighters when they swoop in to attack you - just watch the radar for approaching fighters and turn to hit them, don't both with the ones circling in the distance.
Also, if you're playing on PC, playing with stereo headphones is helpful because you can also track the fighters by their sound - (sound in space - hooray for inaccurate physics.)
Other than that, it's all about practice and the random whims of the Force (since, as Obi Wan tells us, there's no such thing as luck)
Hope that helps.

The physics of that mini-game is awful, so you have to LEAD LIKE CRAZY! Shoot well ahead of all the ships and you will hit them.

Btw shaedar, I can hit the ships when they are out in space. I just lead really far ahead (almost like I am trying to miss) and sometimes they blow up.

I play the X-Box game, so I don't know if this will help you if you have the PC version.

Interesting. I guess I'm not surprised that it's possible, but it's difficult enough that I'd given up trying to do it intentionally, and I never notice if I do it accidentally. The shields on the Ebon Hawk are tough enough that you can fairly safely wait for the ships to come in on their attack runs before you hit them, as long as you can reliably take them down when they do.

Yeah, there's nothing sophisticated to my method- I put the indicator about a half an inch ahead of the ship and pull the trigger like crazy. Sometimes they blow up. The whole freakin' minigame is so dumb though... let's not get started on that rant though

I agree that it is stupid. Thanks a lot for the tips, now I managed to go farther...And beat another ship invasion! I tried to hit them in the distance, no result though. And I actually understand the radar now :o

Thanks again!
