Has Fable had a sense of humour bypass I wonder - "Da** right!" or not?

None of my asterisks meant anything whatsoever - that was the point! However, my serious point was that as the game is rated 18 - the question of swearing is not really pertinent and whilst I have felt no urge to use bad language on this forum - it is ironic that words used freely within the game would not be permitted on the forum.

Foul and abusive tirade

I am new to the forum, so I probably should not comment, but just to make myself unpopular I will do so anyway:

Maintaining a popular forum is hard work and requires a strict set of rules. As far as I understand, the "no profanity" rule is there to prevent the influx of trolls who love to derail sensible discussions with verbal attacks but contribute nothing else. If the moderator would relax the profanity rules for this forum, it would be much harder for him to ban said trolls, as he would have to explain every time why the use of a certain expletive is OK in one instance and forbidden in another.

Not to mention, the game is privately purchased, while the forum is publically available (though privately owned). Hosted in the US. And hosts are getting terribly squeamish these days, given the climate here, about keeping boards they receive complaints about. We've already received complaints from little Johnny and Janie's relatives about vulgarities that have slipped by on this board. We want to stay around for a while. So while I curse frequently (and well) in private life, I keep it off these boards.

There's also something else. The board is Buck Satan's. He pays for it, he maintains it, it's his. If he wants to make a rule and you (meaning anybody)posts here, I figure it's like being a guest in somebody's house. You either abide by their rules, or you leave. That makes sense.

But then, you already know all this, Celacena, since I PM'd you about it. And you didn't have the courtesy to PM me back and discuss the matter.
