Ok, i read all the faqs and searched for this yet i cant find anyone else with the same problem as me. I got the droid and what not, got into the base, got went in every single room and beat the jedi apprentice at the end of the base. Well from here i figured it would be easy. man was i wrong. i go up the elevator and just run past the droid, (my brother did this and he said it worked for him. he tried to beat it for me too and he cant) and i just run past the droid and try to go out the door at the end of the hall. well its locked. i tried picking it with the droid, my character everything and it wont open. do i need to kill the droid? there is a transformer in the elevator room but i dont know what it does. it wont let me click on it either. did anyone else have this problem or is it a glitch in my game?

I never avoided the droid. I suspect most of us fought it. Ask your brother what he did when he managed to get by it, since he seems to have played this way.

I agree...Maybe you have to kill or deactivate it to move on? The droid is actually quite easy to kill, the small droid has some shield distruptor thing, and then just send it to hell with whatever weapons you have.

For what it's worth, there's a datapad you find someplace that explains the purpose of the transformer - if you get the big bad droid to stand near it, its shields will go down, so you get to the point of attacking it directly without wasting shield disruptor charges, computer spikes or time and hit points.

It's possible that if you choose the "unlock all security doors" option in the slicing menu (if there is one) or if you have party members blocking the doorway when they should shut (assuming that it doesn't automatically move you through) you might be able to get back through without killing the droid. However, for the experience, it's probably worth it to just stand and fight as usual.
