Monk Attacks/Round question...

Is there a limit to how many hits per round a character can get to? I have a level 13 Monk character that has 4 attacks/round but I have read that the Monk is supposed to start with 1 attack at first level and gain an additional attack every 3 rounds thereafter which, by my math, equals (1 for first level, 4 for the next 12 levels) 5 hits/round. Where did my other attack go?

The extra attack is actually a half an attack, not a full one. My 17th level monk has a 7/2 which breaks down to three and a half for every round. Five is the maximum number of attacks allowed by the game (and the Shadowkeeper).

I hope this clears things up.

Technically you do get 1 additional attack. Image Your first monk upgrade gets an additional attack every other round. The following will upgrade your first round with an additional attack and so on and so forth. So at level 1 you hit once in the first round, and once every other. Level 4 you will hit once in the first round, then twice in the second. Level 7 you will hit twice in every round. Et cetera.

Just want to clear that up so you don't think you make an attack and then make a half punch as well. Image
