Honor? Influence?

What does this stuff do ? is it for bartering or something? seems like it could be the same as 'charisma' in other games and then it should affect bartering and persuading skills. But there is already a bartering skill and there is not much persuading going on in the game.. And it also says that its like your valor in combat or something, but what exactly does it do in combat, influence? does it make enemies scared of you? they never ran away from me
could someone help unravel this mystery ?

The only place I've seen influence used is as a requirement for some classes -- and the requirements aren't even checked. Maybe it's yet another part of the game that wasn't finished.

Honor and influence seems to effect how much xp you get as well.

Monster seem to give me the same amount of xp regardless if my honor is 10 or 30.

dunno then, maybe it is something else effecting my xp. Could be a coincidence that when I upped it last time i was getting 32 for rats and now get 35 for em. Is there anythign else that would make sense that effects xp?

What do you mean by they aren't even checked?
Have I wasted my advancement points by upping 'Nether/Rune Magic' to become a Deathlord?
Please don't tell my so LOL

If you didn't want to use your points in those skills, then indeed you did waste them. I hope, sort of, that the problem is addressed in a patch.
Honor is basically a useless attribute at this point. It has not effect whatsoever on your abilities in combat and there is no system of differential response for npc's based on anything to do with your character build. Responses to your honor just don't exist in the coding of the game as far as I know.
I have found that honor affects you bargain ability until you reach level 20, after that it has no effect. Check that yourself though, maybe it has no effect on bargaining at all. Don't put any points into the skill until you reach fargrove, save game and then see if honor makes a difference for you. I can tell you the bargain skill does work though and is worth the points if you want to buy magic related stuff.
