Kitting to Wild Mage from BGI

If memory serves, you can kit, for example fighter to kensai when you go from BGI to BGII. As the mage is somewhat special, is it possible to kit from mage to Wild Mage in the same manner?
Just a thought, anyone knows anything about it?

Just a thought, anyone knows anything about it?[/QUOTE]The Wild Mage is considered it's own new class, not a kit. So, unfortunately, you can't make an imported character into a Wild Mage.

There's a tool named Shadowkeeper which will let you change your class, if you're that eager to try it out...

No, I remember clear as day that it's in the kit section for the mage.

Yeah, but as I recall the mage kits don't really work the same way... since the Necromancers and such are already in BG1...

IIRC I made a (non-specialised) mage in bg1, then changed him to a WM in bg2. But why not try out? Just create a mage in bg1, export him to bg2 and see what's possible.

As Coot says, why not try it and see for yourself?
I just tried it, so here's how it works. If you try to import a Specialist Mage from BG1 into BG2, you cannot choose a different kit. For example, if your character is a Conjurer in BG1, that's what he'll have to be in BG2. On the other hand, if you import a non-Specialist Mage from BG1 into BG2, every option except the Sorcerer is available: non-Specialist Mage, Specialist Mage, or Wild Mage (which is actually considered a Specialist Mage in BG2:ToB).
I don't want to discourage anyone from posting messages, but I think it's a good idea to test your ideas before posting them on a message board, so I always try to do that myself.
I also like to experiment just for the sake of experimenting. If you come across something new, please share it with the rest of us.
