spinning cursor, means to use(manual says) , how do u use a spinning cursor . On a quest to find Beatrice the chicken and the cursor just spins over the chickens also in Michel"s hut where there is a plie of books.Help please

Normally the item will light up (if it is an item) and there will be some sort of response after clicking on it (e.g. chest opens, character dialogue).
