I'm not sure If I can put this here, but might I suggest something for the RPG forums..
There are so many just dedicated to specific games. Like I was surprised to see how it was set up.
There are say 3 different forums for just one game, and it's sequals.
Maybe slimming them, merging, or something..
And A final Fantasy RPG forum would rock!

I do believe this is because of the amount of traffic the board recieves for certain games. If a game and it's sequels is getting flooded with posts, they split it up into a few seperate forums for each individual part of the game (I.E. Baldur's Gate and all of it's sequel's). The chaos of merging all of those together would be a mess to sort through for the user's who go there.
Everything was slimmed down and picked through a few months ago IIRC.

This comes up every now and then where some people wish some forums combined, removed, added etc. It all comes down to how Buck wishs to do things, so if you have requests, then post them and your argumentation as to why you wish things added or removed

Fair enough really. From what I can see there are quite a few Final Fantasy fans out there, so maybe a board should be set up?
But generally speaking, the games with alot of forum traffic are split up (e.g. Baldur's Gate), and the games that don't receive a lot of attention are merged, a la Deus Ex & Deus Ex: Invisible War and the Gothic boards

I seem to recall that the reason some of these forums are separate is due to potential spoilers. I'm pretty sure this was the case when Throne of Bhaal came out; initially people were posting about the expansion in the Shadows of Amn forum, but this resulted in too many spoilers for those individuals who had not yet played it through.

If I'm playing through a game, I steer well away from their respective forums

. I find its way to easy to stumble upon a spoiler, or for your curiosity to overcome you and ruin the game

I might do a little more merging in the near future, but only a couple of forums would be affected if I do. The way things are set up right now is not just my preference but is also the result of many member requests over the years. When Throne of Bhaal was released, for example, I was bombarded with requests to create a separate forum for it. Other forums, like the KotOR titles, certainly warrant separate forums. I don't think either forum would be as popular as it is if it was littered with posts for the other game.
As far as a Final Fantasy forum goes, that's not a bad idea. However, judging by the general RPG forum, I'm not sure how much interest there is for any of the titles. Any other FF enthusiasts out there?

As much as I'd like to see a Final Fantasy forum (so I can adequitely condemn the newer releases, and be the bitter old curmudgeon of the series everyone here knows me for), I don't think it has the existing attention.
Perhaps a brief trial run. Make one for a temporary basis, keep around for a month or two, and if flies, awesome, if not, merge back into RPG discussion.
I'd be happy to lead up the project, as well.
