Got to Veritan, but could not pick the lock (not enough skill) so ran around killing until I trained lockpick higher, then when I go back to his cell, the lock says JAMMED!

What do I do? Do I have to start all over again?

Is there another way to free Veritan?

on the left side of this room, there are a couple of beds stacked in the corner. above one of the beds hangs the key to veritan's cell. see if that works otherwise you're screwed.
