A C Milan!!!!

I don't care whether you guys get annoyed by this, neither do I care if you think 'go away, you and your stupid soccer. I’m not interested, and you’re messing this beautiful forum up with your ravings.'
My favorite team, which it is for as long as my mind goes back, is kicking some huge proverbial behind, and I'm damn happy and proud of it!

Go Milan!! :D

I just saw the second goal, it was quite nice, but still have some mixed feelings about Milan, since they knocked PSV out.

Mrow!

Milan's fine, but what's the point of soccer? All that waste of energy chasing around a ball? You people can play with your balls in the grass. I'd rather find a young lady to play with instead.

You think they will make a world known game based on finding ladies in the grass :D

I'm not into soccer, but if I really hate a team I cheer for the other one regardless who they are :p

I don't know about finding ladies in the grass, but there's already a bunch of games made to pick up ladies around the world. :p

If forced to attend a sports event, I tend to cheer for something random. Someone's beer, or the mascot, or the official. Yeah, cheering for the official REALLY gets to a lot of people. Makes my night more interesting than following some ball for 3 hours.

Well, isn't that a huge disappointment. Darn those guys, their minds were already with the women and the booze. That's no good!

Keeping my fingers crossed next 30 minutes...

That's the most amazing fight back I've ever seen in football!

But I do think the penalty was unfair, it didn't seem the Milan defender touched Gerrard at all.

Kaka has been great, especially in the first half...what a wonderful player he is :)

Hehe, crazy game. I thought Liverpool was out for sure.

@Sytze: Yeah, I think Milan already considered themselfs winners.

I disagree, I think he should have been sent-off. And anyway, even if it wasn't fair, the referee disallowed another blatant penalty in the first half, so all is well.

The penalty was very poorly taken though, and Alonzo was lucky to get to the re-bound first, IMO.

Totally disagree, I wonder if we have the same producer of the game? Judging for the TV images I get, there was nothing close to a penalty in the first half, only a Liverpuddlian who fell.

Milan retook the dominance in the 30 min extra-time, I am amazed Shevchenko could miss in the 28th minute! It's a pity such a great match is going to be decided by a penalty shootout.

Where did UEFA find this referee? That guy is worst referee I've ever seen. He's even worse then some guys on last World Cup. Lets see what big mistakes he made that have serious impact on result:
1. Shevchenko's goal was regular, and he called offside
2. He didn't judge penalty for Liverpool, and in counter-attack Milan scores for 2-0
3. No card (red or yellow) for, I'm not sure either Riise or Hypia when he fouled Kaka as a last man (true two other Liverpool defenders were in line with him but they would be unable to stop Milan's player)
4. He didn't stop game for offside (TV nicely show referee waving his flag) and in continuing action Liverpool scored for 3-2
5. There was no faul on Gerard (but that may be recompense for not calling penalty in first half)

So that's five big mistakes (and god only knows how many little ones was there) that directly influenced final score. This should be best game of the season (looking at result it deffinatly is) but a bad judge completly ruined it for me.

By the way I'm from Croatia, so I trully don't care who wins this game, but I hoped to enjoy a good game.

Congratulations to Liverpool, 4-2 on penalties. I am sad for Milan, who is clearly the better team and by far the most talented players, by Liverpool won with some luck and an incredible amount of moral and team-effort.

I am really surprised how Milan let this slip away in such an unnecessary way. Heads will roll in Milan tomorrow.

I am just going to sit in this dark corner of SYM and wheep silently. :(

Kaka was great, Maldini, my favorite player, really deserved to win, and Shev...well, for being one of the greatest goalgetters of all time, he stays this normal, fair playing and emotional guy. Congrats to liverpool though, just like against Deportivo last year, I had a deja vu...

@Sytze: :(

Kaka was the best player in the game IMO. I feel sorry for Maldini, he is a great player who I really respect, and I was so happy for him when he scored the initial goal. Although Milan always have been one of my favorite teams, I think they lack psychological strenght and endurance now, judging from how many "impossible" leads they have let slip away during the last year.

Poor Milan :( but a very important win for Liverpool who have been lacking in big titles for a long time.

Liverpool were the best team over the balance of the game, you couldn't get a 3 goal fight back if they were the worst team - it just makes sense. Liverpool took their chances in the second half and dealt with the pressure better, case closed really.

True, but two of those goals were result of referee error. But history remembers only winners and it's not like they didn't deserve it so:
Congratulations Liverpool
Actualy I'm happy for Liverpool because this way I'll be able to watch them in Champions League next year which would not happen if they lost.

Well, I certainly think Milan was the better team judging over 90 minutes + extra time, but that does not mean Liverpool are not worthy winners. They showed impressive fight-back skills whereas Milan sank deep down. And btw, I know better than trying to argue the merits of an English football team with an Englishman :D ;)

@Ripe: I believe the FA still must make the decision that Liverpool can replace one of the 4 teams from the Premier League that qualified for Champions League play next season.

Meh, agree to disagree (the usual though, eh? :) ;) ) And yes, although I support Newcastle United, I wanted the Reds to win. :)

@ CE - you're spot on, UEFA have said that only 4 can qualify but Liverpool have given them a headache by winning the title, they need to decide who gets the chance to play in the Cup next season, personally, its going to come down to Everton or Liverpool, and there will be no love lost between the two sides if one or the other gets picked... :(
