Resting Problem, and Katanas

Hi, I'm playing a fighter/WM in SOU. There aren't really any spoilers to follow, but I do mention some place names. Two issues have come up. First, around the end of the interlude, I was no longer able to rest in the excavation. I didn't get the standard "You cannot rest while there are enemies nearby" but instead "This is a dangerous area, you should find a secure room to rest in." This was weird, since I'd been able to rest in that very same area earlier (specifically, before going down into the hive). It's continued into chapter three. I cannot rest in the first area, since when i get out of range of any enemies, I get this message. Is this a bug? If so, any ideas for how to fix it?

Second, I'm trying to go the dual-katana route, but I did not import my character from the original NWN campaign, as it was a wizard, and I wanted a change of pace. I am finding nothing by way of good katanas, though. I know that the katana of the north is in SOU, but have i missed it if I'm already in chapter 2? Are there any good Katanas left, or should I just buy the +2 one from ashtara and settle for that?

Thanks

hmm, it looks like the first problem I mentioned was a temporary glitch. Now it's letting me rest when I should be able to rest. But, the question about Katanas still stands, and with a followup too. Here's the followup.

Before playing HOU, I was thinking of trying some mods. Does anybody know of mods with good katanas for my weaponmaster? It may seem kinda silly to pick the mod based on the items available in it...but if I'm gonna be dual wielding katanas and all my special abilities only work with katanas, i'd like some nice katanas.

I really don't know of any, and that'd be a bad idea IMO. The game is made so that you start a new character in SOU and you end up at a level where you can start HOTU right where you left off. If you are TRULY in the mindset you need a wonderful Katana, make one in the toolset to your specific needs.

Yet, eventually in HOTU you'll find a decent weapon of your liking, one way or another.

I'm not sure if this would be a spoiler or not, but just in case...

There is 1 enemy, and one area in the first chapter which provide you with a weapon specific to your character's needs. There's more later on in the game, but that should be enough to get you through to the rest of the game.

The blacksmith in Underdark can also provide you with weapons that are far better than anything you can find, if you got the cash that is.
