Hello
I finished the game and going to do it again.
Is there any good scimitars in the game except Drizzt's Defender and Icingdeath?
How about wakazashis?

after what i heard there is a scimitar +3 without any special abs
then there is a wakishashi that gives an extra attack with poison damage..but only usable by monks
check the lists on this site

it really aint worth the proffiency slots....scimatars could be kewl but there just aint no GOOD magic scimatars (same thing goes for the wakashit).
Its far beteer to choose katana's or long swords.

BG2's best scimitars are clearly Drizzt's, and...(SPOILER)

those are a bitch to get and get taken away by an annoying mage--and there's nothing you can do about it. (Actually, there's a cheat...but that would be cheating.)
That said, I think it's a shame that people assume scimitars are a waste. Belm and Rashad's Talon are both excellent weapons, and there are only a few enemies in the game that can't be hit by +2s.
So what I'm sayin' is, Jahiera dual-weilding Belm and Rashad's Talon makes for a mighty tasty cubed meat salad. Don't dismiss them quickly. (Although, to be honest, I don't think I'd devote proficiencies in scimitar to anyone but a druid.)

As soon as I posted not to undervalue scimitars, someone decided to compare them to katanas. But my point (and I did have one) was that Belm and Rashad's Talon are very effective as a dual-wield combination for Jahiera. Druids can't use katanas. Maybe the respondent wasn't talking about what I said, in which case he's absolutely right--katanas are a better choice. But for a druid (esp. a fighter/druid) it's dual scimitars all the way.

Lucian: Woah, let's take a look at the weapon classes again, I think you're missing some very good weapons here. (I guess this is off the original topic. I'll at least try to keep it to the best weapons of each class and how they compare to scimitars and other druid choices.)
Scim/Waki/Ninja-To: Agreed here. The best weapon of this type is the Scarlett Ninja-To which is among the best weapons in the game but with the patch becomes almost useless since it is monk only and monks don't get more than 1 attack with a weapon. Belm is nice, but not great. As you say, you can't keep Drizzt's. For a druid they're pretty good, but I'd still look at Spears and Clubs (see below).
Flails: Flail of the Ages is clearly near the top of the weapon list. It does 1d6+7 for an average of 10.5 per hit compared to Celestial Fury's average of 9.5. 3 of that damage even goes through stoneskin and on top of that it slows the targets. Being a blunt attack allows it to hit those annoying clay golems and effectively gives it bonuses against opponents in chain or plate. Defender of Easthaven is an excellent off-hand counterpart. Contrary to what its description says, it is +3 with 1d6+4 damage but it's the +1 AC and +20% physical resist that really make it good. If you have an AC approaching -10, this makes it better than Drizzt's Defender.
Spears: Maybe not many use them, but some should consider it for Impaler. In average damage per hit, this is the champ at 16.5 (1d6+13). Compare that to Celestial Fury and Flail of the Ages! It is two-handed, though, but even compared to 2-h swords and halberds it does well.
Halberds: Wave is cool, but the best halberd is Dragon's Breath. Average damages: Wave - 11.75, Dragon's Breath - 14.5 (yes it does get +4 to damage even though it doesn't say so in the description)
Hammers: Crom Faeyr of course. Dwarven thrower if you're a dwarf.
Long Swords: Blackrazor is almost useless since you only get to use it for 1-4 fights. Equalizer is pretty good though.
Bastard Swords: Mostly agreed. Jhor does a lot of damage, but only over time.
Axes: No ultimate weapon but an excellent pair with Frostreaver and Stonefire and a Rifthome is a good thrower. Azuredge never seems to do anything for me.
Maces: Agreed. Skullcrusher decent though. Also, Handmaidens Mace is the most damaging weapon in the game, but only over a LONG period of time and with a missed save: 6.5+20= 26.5 dmg/hit!
Short Swords: not a power gamer's weapon. Cutthroat good for backstabbing.
Quarterstaves: excellent ones, but not really an offensive weapon
2-h: Agreed
Clubs: I think underrated is the word to use. Blackblood and Gnasher are both very, very good. Blackblood does 9.5 average damage and Gnasher does 13.5. With Gnasher it does take 4 rounds, but against spell casters that can be a bonus and there is no save.
Missile weapons: completely different discussion.
