sorc didnt learn spells at level up?

Ok, so I just started playing this game and got my super powerful awesome heroes to level 2 *woot!* However my sorc wasn't given the option to learn additional spells when I leveled him up. He has an 18 Cha so this really shouldnt be a problem. I also have the latest game patch installed. Any ideas why this happened??
And yes I did in fact select scorcer for his second level and not another class.

Actually thats all according to plan. So there's nothing wrong at all.
If you look at the chart on page 140 of the manual, sorcerers don't get any more spells at level 2- they're still stuck at only 2 spells. However, on page 141 you'll see that they can now cast those level one spells 4 times per day instead of only 3 times. At level 3 you do get a 3rd level one spell and an additional casting.
Its a little confusing.

Oh ok, thanks. I'm just used to straight out 3.5 D&D where they learn an additional lv.1 spell when they get to level 2. I guess IWD does things a tad bit different. Thanks again for clearin that up
