How do I kill the demon Balor in the underdark?

Hi im looking for suggestions killing the demon in the underdark i've tried lower resistannce holy smite haste magic missile but less than 3 rounds into the battle everyone is stunned held or otherwise disabled and are then slowly massacred please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The easy way is to just transform into the slayer and watch him go down like 1,2,3
The other way is the hard way, you need some VERY strong weapons to do damage on him and remeber to cast remove fear and chaotic commands on the fok's who are fighting him.

Protection from evil is a good thing against demons.

Protection from evil, a few "pets" and a lot of magic missiles, and head whacking.

Lots of whacking works well. Keep him occupied, and surround him. There's an area around that stairwell where your party has to be strung out in single file--avoid that.

I had Keldorn (14th lvl) kill it mostly single handedly with Carsomyr, was just "helped" by my char (F/T) with Celestial Fury.
Have Prot From Evil and stg vs Fear - at worst Dispel Magic dispels it also.

you just get your fighers around him after casting resist fear or remove fear...then start wailing on him with +3 weapons or higher or is it +4...either way its just a good old fashion slug fest.
If you have a mage u could just summon 2 morkadian swords cast resist fear on them, haste them and watch them finish him off real fast.
