thoughts on end battle(s) **spoilers**

so, what did everyoen think about that end melee? i was not prepared to have to keep fighting round after round with no resting, but i struggled through it. my most valuable spell during that ending was limited wish to gain some spells back. i thought it was really tough and a fun fight.
I would be a serial killer if i didn't have such a strong distaste for manual labor

Well, I for one dont like the almost killed e'm then they run away fights. I would have liked it more if there just where some more monsters to fight and then faced her in the end. It makes them more epic and grand. The fun quickly fades when you know that you have to face it 3 times.

The idea was that we had to systematically weaken her so we could finish her off. We had to cut off the 'essences' she had access too. The only part I did not like was that we knew where she was going to appear, and we could set traps to take a large chunk of her life off. Other than that, she was fairly easy, with a bunch of Greater Whirlwind attacks by 2 fighters, of course. :)

I liked the ending too. I took the Evil path. I think this is easily the best expansion I have ever played.

I fought her for well over an hour, using every single spell every one of my characters had available, and every one of my 100+ superior healing potions. I defeated her first two incarnations, and worked on the third for quite some time... only to be greeted, finally, at my death, with 'Melissan - Uninjured'.

I used greater whirlwind many many times, but she was completely immune to any kind of damage i attempted to deal to her, even after a breech.

That shouldn't have been a problem if you had cast breach.

I agree that the end was simple in hindsight, although a bit surprising that we had to go through round after round. I had to use wish in order to resurect two of my fallen comrades after the second fight. Also, a planetar is definetely useful. Greater whirlwind and hardiness are key. I only had my monk in the end using whirlwind because I ran out with my other comrades....all of which were below or at level 20.

Now I have to go through the game with different characters so that I can find out how the other NPCs lives ended.
