with level squatting, If you have accumulated enough xp to go up more than 1 level, can you just goup 1?
Or failing that, can you go up 1 in two different calsses.
When I try It adds all available levels to the one i select.

Its driving me nuts!!!

That's right- you have to go up all in one class and all at once. You don't get to manipulate it.

There is a mod for that, available at sorcerer's place (link in the links section).
But unmodded, you have to take all levels in one class.

level-squatting would be by far to good if you wouldn't be forced to
take all levels of one type!

So I would consider this mod as cheating...-..at least a little bit ;)

But with good planning you don't need the mod anyway!

What is the advantage to level squatting?

Pardon my ignorance, how exactly does level squatting help? Are the monsters worth more xp wise if you squat a while at a lower level? What are the good points in the game to do it? I have heard the term before and was vaguely aware of what it was.
Thanks

That's exactly it. You gain more experience for killing monsters with lower experienced parties. For example, the first time I went through the game, I hit Chapter 5 (Dragon's Eye) and got no experience for most of the monsters there. With my current party, I'm in Ch 5 at level 9-11 except my bard who is level 15 and I'm getting 300-500 experience points for each kill. So now I have enough experience to get my whole party to levels 15-17.

My squatting plan (includes possible spoilers in black):
I level up normally until level 7 all around. I level up after I clear the barbarian hoard at the ice fields (before the underdark) to level 12 (on average). Then I don't level again until almost the last chapter (The killing fields part 1 or 2, Saablic Tan is easy with symbol spells available). After that, level normally until HOF mode.

With a 4 character party, I got to levels 19-20 by the end. I haven't finished with 6 characters yet.

There are better plans for squatting, but I don't like to think that deeply into it.

The other good use for squatting is to avoid level penalties. If you have a druid (21)/fighter(4) and you want to add barbarian levels, its easier to take all three levels at the same time and avoid 2 levels worth of experience penalties.
