How does the odious chalice work?

As soon as I got the chalice I went to the Lotus Blossom to test it out on the girls still there as an experiment. I hacked and drained but the contents showed as zero. What am I doing wrong?

Every time you kill someone, some of their blood goes into it

It takes a lot of kills to fill the chalice up. It's not a 1-to-1 ratio. I've never paid attention enough to do the math so I can't tell you exactly how many enemies you need to kill for each point of chalice blood.
It's a nice item, though. Fill it up to 10 and it's almost as good as elder vitae.

It's five kills per blood point. Undead don't add to the pool.

I happen to know the threshold precisely, but I've already been on the bad side of the great-grand-exalted members (AKA moderators), and I didn't have a lot of fun there. Wait for it. All things in their time.
