That's a good question. The players manuel doesn't even say what it's used for either. Hopefully someone can enlighten us in the answer to this question. Sorry I couldn't help.

It somehow increases your attack (either damage wise, or speed) but it prevents you from defending so well...

I have only used it once, but it seems I keep loosing blood when the effect is on... I do notice my attack is increased during that time, so I'd guess (one of these):
1) It increase your attack at the expense of your HP
(as what I've noticed)
2) It gives you life drain effect (suck enemies blood to replenish yours)
(as the name suggests?)
Anyone would care to varify? (I'm busy with other game now)

It increases your damage. Same as the bloodlust spell:

I think it does not only give you more damage, but makes your defense less. I have used this potion (and after that a spell) many times and it gives you more chance to do damage near your maximum, but reduces your defense ability so the monster can hit you more often.
I practiced this spell on my buddy Minotaur in Skulldown and with bloodlust I cud kill him faster but took more damage from him.
This potion is good for single strong monsters when you can kill him faster but control your health bar. With swarms of monsters you can end up dead very fast. So be careful.
