As I've alluded, I have been reviewing the game, and my review is now posted up at GamerDad, a site for 'Gaming with Children' ...
Check out the review
here.
It isn't linked on the front page yet, so you need to use the direct link ... but RPGDot found it and featured it already.
I won't spoil the surprise

*psst* In the review you mentioned, "Plot-critical items in trapped chests also require every character take several levels of thieving skills when you would rather be developing your primary skills."
Which is untrue, there is the Bash option, which works 1% less often when opening high level chests as opposed to disarming the traps the conventional way.
Other than that minor point I guess you gave it about as good of a review as could be expected. As far as the empty wilderness goes, I try to pretend that the chunneler back there chasing me is part of the wildlife and scenery

[/QUOTE]While I suppose you are correct, you still have two choices - invest in strength (bash basis) or thieving. And since you want high DEX to hit anything and INT for cheap skills, STR seems like another unwise early investment

In that case, you must be very happy that they included an 'automatic scenery dispenser' that 'refills' the environment every couple of minutes ...

A good review, fair, and unfortunately, true. Nevertheless I think this to be a good game, and I've enjoyed it. I would not play it a second time around, unless they fix-it-up-proper with a patch, which is being done.
I agree with Fiko. I bashed my way through every chest in the sewers, Fargrove, Arindale, and even Ulm. Finally I upgraded those skills, which made life a little easier.
I think the Dungeons are outstanding, and love that swaying grass in the wilderness.
Good work. Maybe after the patch you might want to re-review it.

Maybe it is because I had such high hopes for the game, but I also see myself doing a 'revisited' in which I get to extol how great the game has become ... well, even if I can talk about it as living up to its' potential that would be a good thing ...

Mike, I have high hopes that will be the case.

Patch? I've patched it and it still sucks. So much for the date of 2 weeks for a new patch. I guess they kept the same project manager who missed all their release deadlines for the game.
Hmm, I've an idea. How about 3 polls. First, how many patches will be released?
Second, how long will they support the game? Third, will the game still suck after all the patches?

Elias, that is bad. When the long awaited patch arrives, try, try again. It's bound to grow on you.
