Wizard or War Witch?

I have an elf female started as Mage. She is now Sorceress and going to be Valkyrie. So, which class should I push for 3rd tier? I played War Witch before, so I know as becoming 1, I have access to skills where my Arcane/Celestial magic will recharge faster. I will also enjoy the benefit of heavy armors and heavy poles (mainly the Angelic Destroyer). So I would like to know, is War Witch's skills better than what I'll gain if I pursue the next tier class for Sorceress? The main consideration is the recharge rate of spells, will the Sorceress path (I can't be sure what's the next tier class names) give even faster recharge?

Both. You've got two classes left. Valkyrie, Mage, Sorcerer, yep that's only three.

but I can only have 1 3rd tier class. So I have to choose from War Witch or the 3rd tier class I choose for the Mage path.

One can only have 2 first tier class, 2 2nd tier class and 1 3rd tier class, though sisterhood has no such limit, but still you can have only 1 3rd tier class.

I am currently playing a similar female elfen character which is:
Adept/Mage/Enchantress/Sorceror

and I intend to choose Wizard as my Tier 3 class.

Note that Warwitch is impossible to attain (if you choose to meet the requirements) unless you have chosen a Fighterclass since it requires Heavy Weapons/Armour/Shields of at least 5.

Somehow I find that the recharging is not related to the class, at least I have noticed that my arcane spells recharge pretty slowly and that although I have a level 16 in arcane and level 5 in scribe. Even my iceshards (of which I by now have 50) take forever to recharge.

Valkyrie gets these, right?

Anyway, your choice is between War Witch and Wizard. The class you pick won't (to my knowledge) affect the recharge rate of your spells, so it's a matter of whether you'd rather have Spellfire or Drain Life. I'd pick Spellfire.

ah, yes I'm aware that it dosen't matter if you are a fighter or a mage, it won't affect the rate of magic recharge. But what I would like to know is if the Wizard class offers any skills that gives even higher recharge rate in Arcane (yes I'd like to play an Arcane Spell Slinger) compared to Warwitch's Spellfire? (I assume these skills are working, aren't they?)

By the way, Warwitch is the next level for Valkyrie, and valks got Heavy Armor, Heavy Weapon (not sure), Heavy Shields(not sure too), and Heavy Poles, so being a Warwitch is not impossible for a female elf mage.

Well, the sorcerer class should have given you the scribe skill, which increases the recharge rate for arcane spells. Wizard doesn't offer anything new, but it gives a learning bonus for scribe.

Spellfire and drain life both work (but it's wizard that gets spellfire).

Wizard gives you a learning bonus for arcane spells (and scribe?) which makes attaining higher levels in arcane much easier.

You should already have the scribe skill by now which, should reduce regen time for arcane spells although honestly I haven't noticed much effect.

(currently the class requirement not working yet..so dun care about the requirement for changing classes..)

Actually if you are playing with the patch they do work. I could not take valkyrie untill i had increased my Magic skills to the requirments.

AND since i had messed up the mage quest (sold the staff aparrently) when i DID get scribe and the mage skills from War Witch i DID notice a HUGE difference in spell speed. it may just not be as noticeable from starting mage, OH and i did go from about level 0 to 6 in each one fairly quickly as well. so the gradual change that someone playing mage from the start may not be as noticable. I had pretty much stopped using spells because they took hours it seemed to recharge but once i got the skills it was fairly fast.

You'll do better with Wizard instead of War Witch if you plan to be an arcane spell slinger. Wizard gets spellfire which seems to bump your spell damage a decent amount. I would also choose adept for your second first tier class as it will add learning bonus to celestial and allow you to purchase higher level spells in fargrove and arindale at the churches. Valkyrie is a good compliment to sorcerer as it will add all the heavy skills for melee, heavy armor, heavy weapons, heavy shields, heavy poles. After accepting the quest for wizard class don't forget to visit a sisterhood represeative and do the first part of the war witch quest as well for the bracer. Arcane spell recharge will still be slow, with or without scribe, but you can always fall back on nether magic.

Although Drainlife is convenient for keeping yourself healed by hitting stuff it's not too much trouble to pick up 20 crystals of healing and use those instead of potions. Even without Channel skill they recharge 1 mana per second roughly, and 20 seems to be just the right amount to get me through the tougher encounters without having to wait for recharge. It helps to go to the character screen or the equipment screen for a second after using them so I don't get pounded while my character is recovering from spellcasting.

heh. I had never intended to do the warwitch class, but when the Lord Quest got FUBAR for me (I could never find the guy) and i could not go the Mage line of classes (sold the staff of scortching some where) i had the valkyrie as my only other secondary, so i atleast had that to fall back too. I never had any trouble stayin alive with Drain Life (except with all those bloody Minataurs)

I was saying that drainlife while it's cool and you get it from war witch, isn't something you need to live comfortably and that getting spellfire from wizard instead of drainlife is a viable option if you want to blow stuff up with magic missile :D

Was not claiming drainlife sucks in any way, because it doesn't.
