I've read a lot of other posts about people having problems with this jump. Actually, of all things, I had no problem! :) I backed up in the hall, ran foward, and jumped just before the trap door itself (there's a very small ledge before the trap door begins), and my Figther made it across, hung on the wall, and was able to climb up the other side.

I don't think that helps you, though! Sorry about that, but keep trying, because it's definitely a makeable jump (I think 4 tries was the most I had to do).

don't just jump off right from the ledge, you'll fall. There is a very short delay between when you stepped on the trap door and the trap door opening, enough for a bout 2 steps. so as soon as you cross over the ledge, count 1, 2 and jump. you may need to try a few times to get the timing right.

Not to pick a fight here but I found that the trap door opens FAST and doesn't allow a single step over the line. What worked for me was to walk up to it and stop right on the line, then back up to start my run so that my last step before I jumped would be right on the line and not half a step over and not half a step before. Hopefuly you understand that.
I've also heard that increasing your athletics helps but I did it with only 1 on athletics (i hate that forward roll). So I don't think athletics helps it's all timing that last step so that it's right on the line. D

For me, there was also a short delay (like 1 step at the most) so the jump was no big deal.

everybody have different reflex speed, maybe.

Having Atheletic at level 4 would be nice, sice you can use the very useful back flip - it can be used in many places: getting over the wall at Skuldoon, when the guards decided to take a nap where you can't find them / killing bees and bats / with fire ward, rush bellow a fire drake's belly and back flip with a winter weapon will bring it down on the floor / etc. etc...

Use A Time Warp Crystal

I succeeded on my second attempt. Just before running for the jump i casted the Celestial Time Warp Crystal. This allowed me to watch the last step just before the trap and initiate the Jump timely. Barely made the jump.. he griped the ledge and pulled himself up on the other side.

Time warp is a little annoying but works like a charm where time jumps are needed.

I had speed 262 at the time I made thad Jump and I culd run to the midle of the trap door before it opened. So before making that jump put on all your speed increasing rings and take the elven sword of speed in your hands.
