Unusual problem..

i´ve just bought a copy of fo2 from a friend, the game started just fine but in the den (while releasing vic) my character became "transparent" objects like doors, furniture and walls are drawn over my char. this is not more than anoying, but this may be the cause of a more interesting problem. No elevators work for me in the game (vault city, navaro...) this is bad since without elevators the game is unfinishable.

I´ve read the forum and came across no answers to problems like mine... no problems like mine found at all..

Have any of you experiencied, found or heard of a problem like this? it is getting frustrating not being able to cntinue the game.

Thanks in advance

Well- it would be one of the problems I expect could happen when playing this game on modern hardware, because the game isn't really made for it.

However, some things to try is patching your game to the latest official patch.
It could solve some problems. Also if running XP/Win2K there are something called compability modes which you can set for your game (right click the execuatable) which you could mess around with. And so on.
However - old software can experiences "unusual" problems running on modern computers.

the compatibility modes did´t work, the interesting and unusual part of this is that if I start a new game the game behaves perfectly. It happened in den while killing lots of slavers. Suddenly the wall behind me gained drawing priority over my character and from the on, every item in the game gains priority. For the patching I have the latest oficial patch.

Thanks

IF you re-install the game, it MIGHT turn out allright... (But then there will be about one million more bugs to discover, as you make you way further and further into the game, forcing you to restart, re-install or re-try endless times... My suggestion is: Get a patch... and settle for only 1.000.00 bugs........... Typical Interplay)

I've had this......

I have had this exact same problem in the past ... Problem is, I have been playing this game for a few years now and can't remember exactly how I fixed it. I believe I had to tweak some of the graphics options to force it to reset while in game. I do recall that reinstalling did not work for me.
