I am in the Naga Temple, I've gotten the gold key, jumped over the trapdoor, found Valdane, opened his cell, talked to him, and nothing. After I hit "continue" a couple of times, there are no more options in the conversation tree. I've checked my inventory, and i still just have an empty vial. Why can't I get the blood?

Did the vial come up when you talked to Valdane? I don't think I ever checked my inventory after talking to him, and so this could just be one of the sloppy / unifinished parts of the game. If Valdane said he gave you blood, then I'd just go on as if he did.

no, he never mentions the blood, and he won't leave his cell.

If I remember this correctly, you should be able to ask for the blood using one of those red dialogue lines. Then he should give it to you and walk away. If you're not getting that dialogue option... then I don't know. If it's convenient to do, you could try loading and trying the conversation again.

Did you try and close the dialog box and then open a new one? Sometimes it seems you get new options. Is the empty vial in your inventory? D

Problem solved, in a backwards kind of way. I installed the 1.1 patch, hoping that would help with the problem. Instead, it made the saved game inside the temple useless. So I went to my previous save, and everything worked fine with it. I was able to get the vial of blood this time. And when I went to to talk to Staroxia, I had a lot more conversation options, too. I have no idea what was wrong with the other game.

i have also done all i could to get the blood but after i said all i could he dissapeared and i didnt get the blood. i went back to vartug thinking it was a bug but he is not there and i have no blood and valdane is gone.
