I have been trying for three days. Tried delayed fire balls which do some damage. Pierce magic, breach, finger of death,death spell. For some reason - I just can't get him beyond Injured. Is there some easy way to do this? I am beginning to be bored and I only have this and one more area to go.

P.S. I don't have the time stop spell
my party members are imoen, minsc, aerie, and nalia

Try a few Lower Resistance (Level five mage spell) before Finger of Death... also use something like true sight to get rid of the annoying cloaking.

You could also tank him down if you have enough fighters... The Answerer +4 is very good against dragons (-15% magic res, -2 AC each hit)

yes, he has mega magic resistances. using lower resistance, pierce shield, and pierce magic spells will lower it somewhat. also, there is a space behind the (upper) portion of the doorframe where your pc can stand and not be gotten at. only reccommended if you have high resistances to spells... but you will get him. summon, use death spell and cloudkill to destroy his invis stalkers, use greater whirlwinds or whatnot with your fighters.. you might want to try getting a succesful hit of a harm spell in with aerie. this spell lowers any enemy to one hit point! but remember, her thaco is horrendous.. you must use the weapon she has the best thaco with, cast chant, bless, and other such thaco enhancing spells on her. the cleric spell doom will raise his saving throws too, and his ac for a bit. no save allowed. ultimately, if you can sequence in a spell trigger lower resistances.. you will get him. you can also try setting traps with imoen and nalia, then leading him into them, but from memory, they tend to sting themselves and need healing after trying that. giggle. try standing outside of the door, but in as close as you can to the doorframe, his strikes are limited. and if its your pc, he gets interestted in killing you there. another tip, whirlwind while having a crosbow or bow equipped gives 10 arrows in one round. minsc with some arrows of biting might hurt him, that way.

If all else fails, lay four spike traps and run home to mumma!
