Does anyone know if there is a reason that they don't make the patches available as zip files? I have dial-up, and it is going to take 4 hours for the 1.3 patch to download.

They never do that. But I understand the frustration since I also have to wait 4 hours with my crappy with 56kbps dialup.

I just want to know if it is because they can't zip the file for some technical reason, or if they just don't think anyone uses dialup anymore.
Either way, it stinks. I have 2 hrs, 25 minutes to go.

The good news it appears to be compatiible with previous saves. The bad news there is no change to the character creation. I am starting a new game anyway. The map should be a tremedous help.

Disappointing
Im very disappointed in this patch, because most of the problems aren't fixed yet. Heraldy still doesn't work, most of the skills aren't working(steal, scout, indentify...), there are still a lot of unfinished spells(there aren't any new spells) like arrow of baal...(especially rune magic, because there are only about 6 types of rune magic available)
The worst thing is : I waited so long for what?...NOTHING!
At least they got the junk, and the map working...

I am sorry, but I have just experienced how stuped these people_developers are - they just removed the outlook option at the begining; at the end - haha, the relic-ring does not protect you from the magic of the final boss - if that is called an ajustment (sigh). I will call it a "Vicious circle" - correct one bug with another one! Really stupid, all waiting for nothing!

And no skills fixed - no identify, no nothing! Sorry, but I am really

If you were to take all the files from the executable that you downloaded (the patch) then zipped them you wouldn't actually see much of a file size difference. Not to mention zip only helps when multiple files are in question..> With a patch they try to dummy proof it. By using one executable that extracts itself in each folder that it needs to be in it ensures that people don't have problems placing each updated file in the correct folder.

Thanks for the download links, Mike. I'm into Sacred Underworld right now so will wait and see what the patch looks like later. By the time I get through SU they'll probably be another patch.

*Sigh* That's all I can say.
Oh ya, I hope there will be more patches forthcoming in the near future.

I am really disapointed. The only thing they fixed was the auto map which is only one small improvement. It looks like we are all stuck with a beta version of a game that they don't intend on completing.

No fix on the multi-player option of turning friendly fire off in this patch?
This is the main thing I (and my brother) have been waiting for...
