every once-in-a-while i find stuff missing from my inventory.WHY?

Sometimes, when a foe casts "horror" o a spell like that upon your character, the character drops things when is running. Perhaps it was that what happened to you

I don't know what the circumstances are when this happens to you, but I believe there is at least one character that will attempt to pickpocket you in the city. If you are attacked by Nishruu, they can eat magic items. Of course, it could always be a weird bug.
