hi there..just finished the game with male Tremere and I have to say I like it ...now even before i got the game i wondered which clan is the best, the most powerful , coolest disciplines etc..So we come to this..what do you think would happen if a well developed Brujah go against a well developed Gangrel..both physical clans..you know fighters...and to give them faces lets say its Beckett versus Jack(I think he's Brujah)...first i wanted to make it Jack VS The Sheriff, but i don't think shreiff is strong enough..
anyway what do you people think..Brujah or Gangrel.
Which discipline did you enjoyed the most..to me this was Thaumatugry..
One last thing before I go..anyone has an idea who the cab driver was?

By the cabbie?
I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.

Personally, I'm not quite sure there is a singularly most powerful clan. Each clan has advantages in terms of the game play. Some clans can sneak and hide with ease, others are great in terms of dealing with mortal fights (i.e. dominate and thaumaturgy are very powerful disciplines in large fire fights), etc.
In terms of one-on-one power, I have always found celerity to be the game's most powerful discipline. In theory (and in the pnp version) protean should be quite powerful in this context as well. However, I always found it slow and unwieldy in terms of actual game play. However, with celerity four and five, you are virtually impossible to contain. So, I'd have to bow to Toreador and Brujah in the context of one on one power. Again, looking at things in terms of the pnp version, is a different matter entirely. Gangrel and Ventrue, among others, can still certainly hold their own, as Fortitude is quite powerful at countering things such as Celerity. Ultimately, in a pc game where offense is usually much more potent than defense, I still end up thinking that celerity clans will come on top.
As for the cabbie, there are several exhaustive threads where we argue, debate, and ultimately come to no conclusion about his identity. Some people insist he's Caine, others of us don't agree. Dracula/Vlad Tepes is the other popular suggestion. Anyway, do a search and you'll find lots of debate on that.
I would only favor brujah, not toreador. A gangrel would not be able to keep op with the speed but the fortidute discipline is just insane. Bullets, knives and others just bounce right off, making it impossible for a toreador to break through. A brujah on the other hand would be able to break through with the potence discipline.

To those who didn't get my earlier reply, allow me to explain
I have seen many bloodlines forums and they ALL have the infamous cabbie-discussion. The gamebanshee forum also has an extremely long discussion about who the cabbie is, check the ''ending spoilers curious'' thread.
And here you are just asking who the cab driver is LIKE IT'S NOTHING AT ALL
But to answer another question asked, I don't really have a favorite discipline, I also liked thaumaturgy, but I also had a good time with obfuscate and dementation, I am currently playing as a Nosferatu and I think potence looks really cool and does a good job of making you feel like a badass, but when it comes to goodlooking disciplines you can't beat animalism.

Well, despite the propaganda of the tutorial, guns are moderately effective against vampires (particularly if the right kind of guns are used). I'm sure that power gaming Toreadors will tell you that Auspex (which allows them to break the 10 cap in fire arms) -if employed properly - is a good substitute for potence. For that matter, a skilled player can use a combination of celerity and firearms to devestating effect (avoid being hit and all). However, that's really not my point. My point was that celerity is really potent in the context of this game. For the most part, that one discipline is insanely powerful. There's not much of a power divide - if any - between Brujah and Toreador. In theory, one is better in ranged fights, and the other in brawl. Honestly, though, unless you just min/max your build, the differences will be minute even in terms of these things.
Personally, I've found Fortitude to be a very potent discipline. I've enjoyed the Ventrue combination of powers probably the most, so I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it. However, every time I play a celerity clan I'm astounded by how much easier the game becomes. I can't help but think that Fortitude pales in comparison to it.
But, again, yeah, the cabbie question has been beat to death. Check out the "The Ending" thread. I think I pretty much summed up the discussion. Ultimately, it just will remain a mystery. If you really want to believe its Caine, go for it. I don't buy it (but I'm a pnp purist about the Caine stuff, I guess), but a tiny case can be made for it. But, basically, the community is pretty confused and divided over the issue. So, I suppose, that makes it a good White Wolf story device. Not all things are suppose to be revealed.
