I tried to cast chain contigency from a project image.. Well, it didn't work, there were no spells to select from.

Then I pressed the 'cleric' button which swithces to cleric spells in case of a cleric-mage. Surprisingly there were lots of cleric spells available, which shouldn't be there as my PC is a conjurer!

Then I noticed that it was Viconias spell selection and I set the chain contigency with triple implosions and see enemy and target closest enemy. After that I took Viccy to see some hostiles and even more surprisingly it worked!!

So is this just some weird glitch in my computer (at least I was able to do it repeatedly and I have only Baldurdash and Ascension mod installed) or is it valid cheese? Or is it already well known tactics?



But anyway, if this works, who needs Aerie to chain contigency cleric spells?

EDIT: Unfortunately it didn't work if I kicked Viconia out of party. Either it is just a glitch or it has something to do with the order you take NPCs in your party..

I read this one in User Friendly's cheese guide, apparently if you select a projected image and start them casting chain contingency, pause and then select another casting character, unpause.

The chain contingency will affect the new selected character.

Never tried it myself since I've only played solo since I've read the guide, I imagine it'd work.

Alternatively I sometimes use the Limited Wish spell and using my player character Cleric use him to get Chain Contingency and buff him so at 10% hitpoints he heals himself and casts a bunch of mass healings.
